Not kidding about the sizes
I love this boot. It is warm, waterproof, and I’ll be happy I bought it come this winter when I head to the arctic circle. That being said I had to return the boot 2x due to it being too small. I wear a 7 1/2 - 8 in woman’s shoes and I had to up it for a size 10. There is now enough room so I can wear my new woolen socks and still feel comfortable.
Order 2 sizes up
I was so excited to get these boots for ice fishing this winter, and when they arrived they looked super cute and warm and sturdy, with a good thick felt liner, BUT- I'm typically a 7 1/2, so I ordered size 8, but very surprisingly they were extremely constrictingly tight around my foot and toes. I'm not sure even a 9 will fit, and not sure I want to risk the hassle of having to do a 2nd return by mail (not free return) if they don't. So disappointed.
Size up!
I had sized up in order to wear warm socks with these but even with thin ankle socks these were so small!! Reading other reviews I see some people sized up 2-3 sizes. I reordered larger hoping that works because they are really nice. But disappointed in how they are not sizing correctly.
Runs small
I wear an 8.5 so purchased a 9 and they fit like a 7!
well constructed boot
Well constructed boot. I think it will be warm. It was overall too large for me. I love REI's easy return policy Ordered by mail/ I live near a store and it was quick & easy to return.
Order up for correct sizing!
The boots are great, once you get the right size. My wife needed 3 sizes bigger than normal size (size 8 is normal, went with an 11 for proper fit) for the boots to fit. Once they did, they are the warmest, most comfortable she has owned to date.
Way too small
Cute little boots but way too small.
Short break-in period necessary; warm boots!
When I first tried these on, I noted they felt a bit snug even though I'd sized up a tad. I know other reviewers had also mentioned these being a bit on the small size. I wore them in the house for a day to really get them to form to my foot. I purchased these intending for them to be used mainly as camp shoes for winter, too, not so much for hiking boot, but on my next outing it was quite cold outside so I decided to try these for hiking in. They did very well, and it seems the more I wear them the better they fit. I still mainly intend to use these as camp boots to help with my constantly cold toes, but they were also comfortable enough for a 3 mile hike and kept my feet toasty on a day that topped out at -7F. I don't think they'll work well with either my snowshoes or microspikes (too big/bulky), so they will never be my main hiking boots, but when it's very cold out these are great!
