Great vest, flimsy zipper

I bought this vest to wear while running and as part of my layering plan for Scotland next April. It seemed perfect for these purposes, and at first I was delighted - but the third time I put it on, the zipper broke. I knew I could return it, but the website now showed that they were out of my size and that the product has been discontinued. I wanted the vest, so instead of returning it I took it to a seamstress and had the zipper replaced. Then I called REI and asked them to refund what I'd paid the seamstress, and they did that. As usual, REI's customer service was outstanding, and I love the vest :-). So I recommend it, but just be aware forgetwho that it doesn't have a great zipper.

Ok but I wouldn’t recommend.

I received this vest as a gift. It’s a nice vest but things are constantly falling out of the pockets, so much so, they are useless. Doesn’t matter if your walking, running, or just sitting; items fall out, so beware. I don’t get why the pockets don’t have a zipper, makes no sense to put pockets on the vest that don’t work. I will probably end up putting Velcro or figure out something I can add so I can use the pockets since I can’t return it at this point.

cute but not durable

Pulled up on the back and under arm area after a couple wears and front material wears down easy. In less than a month I it looked old. Super disappointed.

Paper Thin

Not much fabric to this $100 vest. You're paying for the logo. I'm not. It went back.

Not quite right

The concept of this vest seems solid. It’s a solid design for running in cooler but not cold temps with more of a heavy windbreaker front and breathable back. I’m a pretty straight up and down build and I found this vest to be pretty fitted around the hips while being baggy in the chest and shoulders. I didn’t think it would be very insulating and was worried I wouldn’t be able to layer underneath because of the fit so had to return it.

cold weather running staple!

This has far exceeded my expectations. I wanted a running vest that would keep my chest warm but allow my back breathe, and this is definitely it. The material in the back is very thin but the front is double (or triple) layered, so ladies, your tatas are protected from the cold. I wasn’t sure how much I’d wear this, I run 4x a week and have used it almost every day since I got it a few months ago. Was a really helpful layer during the fall transition and has remained a faithful staple in the winter, including during snowstorms and temps in the high teens! I do run hot so the lightness of this vest is perfect for me. If you’re looking for a substantial vest, this is not it (try SmartWool though, they have a hooded wool vest that is really awesome!)

Perfect for shoulder seasons

I bought this vest as a result of having taken a cruise this spring where I needed a vest for warmth. The vest I wore aboard ship was a heavy one for use under a rain jacket, so it was heavy. I wanted a new, light vest to wear for warmth AND style, to wear over plain-looking tops. This vest hit my needs perfectly.

My girl is sneaky!

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] Had this hidden in my closet as a Christmas present. My significant other found it in my closet and decided to gift it to herself early. Could really use the gift card for 100 clams because I now need to get her new gifts. She loves it and is now using it as part of her base layer for our winter fun. If I could only get her to try snowboarding, winter would be complete.

Great for layering!!

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I needed a light vest for golfing- this is just a little extra layer -not for extremely cool days but just right in the high 40/low 50s over a long sleeved shirt with another light jacket over it (i got the same color/material long sleeved jacket). I love that is is warm yet does not feel like another layer. I can move well in it.

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I purchased this reversible vest to wear under my north face jacket, I love how versatile and warm both sides are. I am outside all day, when it's super cold I use the fuzzy side in, when I'm a little warmer I flip it to the other side! I love this product, I got one for my daughter as well and she loved it too
