nice boot, terrible sizing info

This is a good quality boot, with an internal lace to hug the mid foot and a Velcro strap to help hold the heel in place. It is not "roomy" in the forefoot but rather normal, as compared to a similar boot style from Rossignol. The issue with the Salmon boot is the sizing. The size chart REI has linked to this boot differs from the Salomon chart. The REI chart indicates that the US7, the EU39, and the UK5.5 are all the same size boot but this is not accurate. Using the chart on the Salomon website, one sees that a US7 is actually an EU 38 2/3. I used the REI chart not realizing there are these inbetween sizes and got a boot that fits a half size too long. I will be returning for a UK5, which is a US6.5 (not my normal size) and the equivalent to an EU38, My suggestion? Go with the EU size to order your boots. All my shoes and boots are US 7.5, EU 38 for reference. I have a high instep and a slightly wider than normal boot. Once I get the 38's I should be good to go!

Broke after third use!

Super disappointed. I purchased these boots last spring to upgrade my ski gear. On my third ski out (short skis at that!) this winter the zipper broke- the boot is now unusable. Disappointed in Solomon and the quality. But worse yet, unless I drive to a different town (during the Christmas rush) to the REI store REI is unable to exchange or replace them. So now I have a ski vacation with no boot and a pretty unhelpful solution. I thought better of REI and their ability to take care of customers.

Use Size Chart from Salomon, Run Large

I have yet to use these outside so I can't speak to their quality for their purpose, but wanted to note that the size chart on REI is incorrect for these boots, and for me, they ran about half size to one size larger than my normal size. They seem pretty great, I'm stoked to switch them out and hit the trail.

Comfy

Very comfortable boots with an easy drawstring lace. They do run a bit wide on my narrow feet.

Good Boot, but runs small

I normally wear 8.5 so I ordered this size but it was too small (not long enough), I have narrow feet so the width fits perfectly. I just ordered a bigger size and I believe it will be perfect. It has enough support for the ankle!

Stood up to the test and exceeded expectations.

living in Illinois i had only 3 or so times to ski these in 2022 - 2023 due to not a lot of snow. This past week, skied with these boots in Whistler BC mountains for a week in ever changing conditions from hard pack, very deep fresh powder, to slush. They exceeded my expectations for warmth, comfort, and staying dry. Excellent boots! Even with being in deep snow over the ankle (I did not have gaiters), the boots kept the snow out.

Boots Leave a Blister

These boots have caused blisters to develop about an inch above the heal. I have worn the boots over 15 times and I still cannot avoid the blisters.
