Great features, but runs small!

I haven’t been able to try these out in snow yet (bought them for an upcoming trip), so this review is focused more on the fit. These run really small. I am normally a size 10 or 12 in pants (depending on brand and style/cut: I’ve got a classic hourglass figure, with a small waist and bigger hips). Since the size chart said a M was 8/10 and a L was 12/14, I went with the large, figuring it would be a more comfy fit. I couldn’t even get the large to button in the front and it was so tight in the thighs that I couldn’t move. Luckily I was able to exchange them for the XL, which fits way better. Also, the blue color is gorgeous. It’s a bit darker than in the photo, but I like it even more in person.

Probably really great pants but not a good fit.

I gave them 3 stars because they seem like well made ski pants and the wild ginger color is beautiful. It's a little lighter than the photo. More like a muted light red brick color. The pants run very small in the hips and waist. I would have to size up but the legs were so wide I didn't want to try a larger size. When I walked they made a loud brushing-scraping sound. I'm a bit bowl legged and normally my thighs never brush when I walk. I can understand the need for wide legs to go over other pants or long underwear but these were too wide and I wouldn't be able to tolerate the scraping sound with every step.

NOT designed for for athletic girlies

The medium size pants barely fit over my thighs, despite my waist/hips measurements fitting squarely into the size medium range based on the north face size chart. Also, the waist gap was too much. These pants are NOT designed for women with athletic lower bodies. Returning.

Nice ski pants

Better fit than previous TNF ski pants. Same size and style but the rise is higher making them more comfortable. The thigh pocket is larger and easier to access. They are warm with a mid weight base layer.

Sizing is ridiculous

So I don't know when sizing went out the window but one size is a full size too small but if you go up just one size it is a full size too big. Like when did I start needing half sizes?

Great for Snowboarding

I am in love with these pants!! They hug me in all the right places and emphasize my figure. They don't get wet at all, compared to other brands I have seen start to look soaked after a long day in the snow. They keep me very warm and I like that there is a belt loop if needed. I highly recommend these to anyone looking to invest in a good pair of snow pants.

RUN VERY SMALL

These pants are great but they run super small. I am 5' even and 130 lbs. Typically I wear a size 4 pant so I bought I small. I couldn't get them past my knees. Size medium was snug, Large was loose. All being said, I love the pants and "size doesn't matter". Take the advice and size up at least 1.

Not True To Size

The sizes for this product that are listed on REI are completely wrong. Go to the north face website to get the correct sizes. I wear a size 28 or 29 in jeans (5’10”, 170) and there is absolutely no way that this medium was going to fit me.

Great Pant but Run Small and Long.

The Freedom pant runs very small. I wear an XS in all the other brands and I could barely get these over my hips. I exchanged them for a S regular which fit perfectly except for the length. These run long. So on my next visit to REI I tried the S Short and they are as long as my Marmot Regular. The cargo pocket on the leg is high enough to be above my knee brace. These are warm and have nice movement so I don't feel constricted.
