I've been climbing in these shoes for two or three months now both indoors and outside, and they have been great. I climb a wide range of slab/ crack/ and slightly overhung walls outside, so I wanted a shoe that could handle it all but also allow me to climb relatively well on some overhung boulders indoors (V4/V5). The slightly aggressive toe is exactly what I need in this stage of climbing. I like that these shoes can do it all for me, so I do not have to buy multiple pairs. I found the size to be true to my regular shoe size. I think my next pair I may try to go down half a size though as the shoes are starting to feel almost too comfortable.
My right foot shoe's tongue is already ripping and tearing after only two months of use only INDOORS. I would rate this shoe 4 stars but this is ridiculous...
I have extremely wide 4E shoes and thought it was important to let people know that this one is doable. The Evolv's double tongued design allows for superior fit and comfort compared to other brands that sew the tongue into the shoe. As far as the performance of the shoe goes, so far the rubber only feels average, especially notable on polished gym holds it kind of feels like a slip n slide. The toe itself seems imprecise, but more than enough for intermediate crushing on closer to vertical walls and leaves something to be desired for overhangs. I think this could be an insanely good second shoe in terms of getting into intermediate climbing, but I think if you're looking for a gym crushing shoe I'd look for something else.
The shoes are great are they the best shoes in the world? No but they are fantastic for what there made for I like them a lot they are my main climbing shoes. *extremely stiff when breaking them in*
I knew these were the shoes for me once I tried them on. They fit snug but weren't too aggressive. I went up 1 size from normal shoes and was a perfect fit. So far I have been very pleased with these shoes. They are a bit pricey, but it's an expensive sport and not crazy pricey relative to some other shoes like the Sportiva solution or Scarpa Vapor V. Overall, great shoe for an intermediate climber or someone looking to go a bit more aggressive with jamming toes into you kicks.
Been climbing for a while and never owned Evolvs. I have heard that they run small so I purchased them at a half size up and they were still way too small for me. My street size is 10.5 and I got an 11. I would recommend going a full US size up on the Geshido.
This shoe brought me into the start of climbing shoes and the introduction to climbing outside. Thought I quickly saw as my friends and other climbers was wearing softer shoes that how hard this shoe was impacted my climbing as a result, but some routes need that. After seeing the full life of this shoe before my eyes I'd say its a great buy but after 8 months of solid gym climbing you'd be onto your next more aggressive shoes. I have resoled and kept these in my arsenal for that next route that needs them and still find great results for them. Keep sending
Really good pair of all purpose shoes. I was having trouble with small footholds with my neutral shoes, and the slightly aggressive toe on these, made it much easier to rely on the small holds.
Starting out on your climbing adventure and looking for the right pair of shoes? These are seriously comfy—I had no problems keeping these shoes on for the majority of my climbing sessions. The rubber seemed especially great for beginners, forgiving all those foot misplacements while you're still figuring out your best moves. It can really take a beating, which is perfect when you’re still working out the kinks in your climbing technique. Unfortunately what surprised me most about the evolv Geshido's were the issue I had with the velcro straps. They have a knack for popping open when you're midway through your route! It’s a bit of a distraction, especially when you're trying to focus on your next move. So, while these shoes are comfy and durable, just be ready for some mid-climb DIY if those straps decide to go rogue on you. Other than that, they’re a pretty solid pick for those new to the climbing scene.
I've used these for a solid 6+ months at the gym going 3-4 days a week bouldering and top rope. Only now has the toe on the right foot worn through and needs resoled. The toe box on these is wider than most other shoes I've tried which makes them way more comfortable if you have a wider foot. I'm going to buy a second pair to have while the originals are being resoled. Very good shoe, breaks in well.
