Looks good and workmanship is great, only concern is that the parts that touch the hot water/coffee are plastic.

Got Coffee?

We have used this for many years on bicycle tours. It is simple, lightweight, double walled and durable. Get up at camp in the morning, listen to birds, enjoy pot of coffee, and all is right with the world! The stem unscrews to allow you to stuff stuff into the empty container and then into your packs. It is so great I was going to buy another just in case it goes out of production, but then the current price put me off. Oh well, I'll look again in 5 years, and then it will be x2 more expensive... maybe I should invest in now?

Love it

As a mountaineering instructor and backcountry guide, coffee is my lifeline during long, rugged expeditions. The GSI Coffee Kit has been a game-changer—compact, lightweight, and built to withstand the elements, it’s the perfect companion for early alpine starts or quiet canyon mornings. Whether I’m leading a group in the remote Utah canyons or prepping for a summit push, this kit ensures I get my quality brew no matter where adventure takes me.

Excellent Brewer

Lightweight, easy to use and love that it's not easily broken when camping. Top is secure when brewing and the cloth cover/handle insulates. As easy to clean as any I've had. The plunger doesn't press all the way down and leaves behind a couple of sips.

not bad

world fairly well... let's the finer pieces of grounds through.... but I wasn't aware you could get different grades of coffee grounds... so maybe with course ground groundss you wouldn't have that problem... my biggest gripe with it was that it can't be clipped by the handle to your pack... I did... and thats why I don't have one anymore... it the plastic cup with lid and plunger.... it slides out of the insulated sheath easily... kind of my fault... but... seems like that wpuld be a common way to stow the French press... I mean who wants to take up that much room in their pack....

Finally, a decent French Press for Camping

I'd been using a small plastic press for coffee but it had to be cleaned and refilled 4X for two coffee drinkers. The Pyrex glass presses are a good size but breakable. This model is a good size for two people, cleans easily, and is durable.

Works great in the backcountry!

My wife and I have used ours many times and never had a problem. It is well built and light enough for pack weight. Have enjoyed coffee in the forests of Montana, Colorado, Wyoming and Minnesota! We love our coffee!

Perfect little coffee press

I purchased this after returning the OXO coffee press because my s.o. has one he's used for years. It is light, durable, and keeps my coffee hot. Best of all, it doesn't squirt hot coffee out the spout like others.
