I haven't taken these on the trail yet, just around in cold temps for urban hiking to test. I am impressed as I originally had not wanted to spend the money, but really wanted a pair of full zip pants. I had fleece lined snow pants, and these seem to be warmer than those. Also, much more comfortable. I really wanted the full zippers so I don't have to take my shoes off on the trail, and have no complaints about the zippers. At first I thought I wanted them to zip from the bottom up because that would be easier. But I realized that having them zip from the top down makes sense...ya know, so your pack belt doesn't rub and unzip them. Also, you can leave the bottoms unzipped if needed. I am tall, and I am so happy with the length. it is so nice to have my ankles fully covered. Also, the articulated knees make them super easy to walk in. I don't foresee having any issues with this on the trail. (Snow pants always catch at my knees and so they feel slightly restrictive.) I actually wore them over leggings to work on a snow day and didn't want to take the off. I think the fit looks pretty good too, it doesn't look puffy or oversized. Also no issues with the water proofing. I got hit with some off and on rain and it all looked to bead up quite nicely on the exterior. For the drawbacks. Pockets. It would be really nice if these had pockets, at least one side pocket for a cell phone so that you can take it out for photos. Sizing. I have an athletic curvy build, not overweight, and I am tall. I originally bought these to put over a pair of fleece pants and base layer. (Again for snowshoeing, not cross country.) I bought the XL. They fit great, but with only one pair or base layers or leggings. It would be nice it they had extended sizes. But for those of us who have a large difference in hip/waist, it is really nice to not have any waist gap. (iykyk) Overall I am super please with these and craft is now one of my brands that I will be keeping an eye on when I look for gear.

These pants are great- warm, wind-resistant, and soft. However, there are no pockets! This is a major deal breaker for me. I need at least one pocket for keys and/or my phone.

Nice pants, but no stretch and the fit runs small

These pants are a great weight and material for winter sports, but unfortunately they run super small and have no stretch. I ordered a medium pleaded off of the size chart and they are sized more like a small.

Love these pants!

I love these pants!! I just used them to go cross country skiing and they are very wind and water resistant. They're also super warm. I was the only one of my friends to stay dry :) If you are between sizes, I recommend sizing up. I am 5'4" and 115lb and S fits well in the waist. The pants are a little long, just because I'm short, but they have elastic at the bottom so it was not an issue. There is plenty of leg room in case you want to wear base layers.

Full Zip One Way

I usually wear XS in pants. These were snug which was okay because of the stretch, but the upper ends of the zipper dug into my waist and were uncomfortable. Unzips from bottom to the top. Not a double zipper which would have been nice if there was velcro or an attachment at the top so these could be vented. If you want to vent from the bottom, the pant legs get wide. Material felt comfortable with plenty of stretch.
