Overall, these are comfortable pants that fit OK. Intended for winter hikes/Nordic adventures, I was looking for a replacement for my Swix of a similar design which have a tie waistband and constantly slip down over my lack of hips. I sized up to a Medium in the Deviator after reading reviews. As other reviews noted, it's quite snug. For reference, I'm 5'7" 135 pounds with approx 28" waist. The saving grace is the wide waistband panel. I have thin legs, and these fit fairly tight through the thigh and calf. Oddly, they are loose/baggy in the crotch. It's not super attractive. Maybe if I was curvier...? In general though, these are pretty comfortable. My Swix don't have pockets, so I am loving the deep slip pocket and zippered pocket on the thighs. Elm is a deep green color. The fleece on the back inside of the legs is soft and stretchy. Love the zippered ankles. I haven't taken them out yet, so we'll see.
Tight. I like them but should have bought one size larger. They are windbreaker material on front of pants. Stretchy a little lined on back half. So less stretchy overall. And it’s cold here where I run. I need an additional layer under. So probably needed one size larger.
These are joggers, not leggings. Not a style I like. The waistband had no give, really only appropriate for narrow hips. The result of the waistband design is that these fit loose, which would be fine for a walk or maybe hike, but not for a run (for me). I think the wind breaker aspect would be excellent, but these are going back. Bummer that REI makes you pay for online returns, forcing you into a store. Bad form.
Thinner than I thought. Need base layer for winter
