Impressive little fridge packed with benefits.

This little fridge is great. It seems to cool everything easily, except what's in the small storage section on top. That was all slightly warmer than everything else. This is perfect for me because I keep insulin in there. The small profile of the fridge helps me out with the setup in the back of my tacoma as well. I love the app and ability to turn the fridge on and monitor from my phone. The wifi on the fridge seems ultra power as I can pickup the fridge from quite a few feet away. Overall, I'm impressed with the dometic brand and have used a few other brands prior to this.

Worked mostly, for a couple of trips

I really wanted to like this product, but out of the box it would never pair with the app via Bluetooth or WiFi so app control was non-functional for the product’s short lifespan. Aside from the app failure, the fridge worked well for two short trips and then the display stopped working, leaving me with no control whatsoever of the fridge. It still chills, to whatever set point I had set it to prior to the screen failure. But that’s it. Note that the unit had the protective cover from dometic I purchased separately, so even had extra protection. It was never exposed to extreme environments, dropped, or anything else that would have caused the failure.

Don’t waste your time trying to connect to wifi

Just got it, so all I’ve done so far is to set it up and make sure it works. So far I generally like it. Seems well built and useful. However, I wasted a lot of time trying to get it to connect to my home wifi network before an in-app chat person let me know that (contrary to the documentation), Bluetooth is the only way they recommend controlling it. Bluetooth works great as long as you’re close enough, but I was certainly led to believe it could also be controlled remotely through wifi. Not a deal-breaker, but annoying. I assume if I just turn off the wifi feature (that doesn’t seem to do anything), it will reduce power consumption by a bit.

Dometic CFX3 35 Powered Cooler

Nicely built item. Have used as an auxiliary fridge in the home for six months and have heard no sound. Temp has remained stable within a couple of degrees. Have set to 37 degrees. 35 degree setting would probably safely avoid freezing. I haven't used as a freezer but expect it would work fine. The top lid is conveniently lightweight and strong enough to stand on. Wi-fi, BT & App work great.

Amazing tool for eating healthy while traveling

We love our fridge and take it anytime we go on a roadtrip. We pack it with fresh veggies and healthy meals so that we don't have to eat garbage from fast food places. Our daughter has a lot of allergies so it has also been helpful having healthy food options ready when we travel with her. Coupled with the PLB40 charging portable battery this thing can literally be taken anywhere. We had one that served us well for four years until our garage was broken into and it was stolen. Knew I was going to buy a replacement immediately. We love it!

Fantastic cooler!

Love this cooler! Basically, you are getting a portable mini-fridge. I purchased because I travel a lot for work. I try to drive, when possible. I have had mixed issues in hotels. Sometimes the mini fridge works just fine. Other times, the combo fridge/freezer will freeze all my liquids. So, I bought this cooler. It enables me to keep my items cool without ice in the car. Then, I plug it in when I get to the hotel room and have reliable cooling. Understand, this thing is pretty heavy. Not overwhelming, but, it is not light. However, it is worth it. I have taken it on a half dozen trips so far and I love it. I plug it into the car lighter socket while driving, then the hotel room upon arrival. Perfect!

Great cooler for road trips, 4x4ing and camping.

This cooler is built like a tank. Hopefully it'll last - Dometic has a good reputation in the overlanding and rv world. It uses a surprisingly small amount of electricity - 50W when running and 7W when on standby, with about 15W average. So a 250WH battery should run it for a day. Negatives: Heavy. Big. Beware if you order an insulated cover - the CFX3 has the back and side vents OPPOSITE of the earlier CFX 35s so the insulated cover won't fit unless you modify it by cutting some holes in it!

Quiet and solid for car camping and road trips

I bought this as an upgrade and very happy with it! My first fridge was a Massimo E-Kooler, which was a good intro, but too noisy and flimsy. This Dometic is quiet and sips power. I find the 35 to be a great size for 2-4 people on short trips. I just need space to keep milk, cheese, and a few other things that need optimum cold. I combined it with a Bluetti EB70S to keep it going when stopped to camp. If I had anything to wish for, it would be some tie-down positions near the base.

product not ready for prime time

after a long trip using it everyday , realized that every now and then I get error 33 ( compressor failed to start ) after doing a bit of research , there is a recall for this product on this issue , very disappointed I had great hopes for this fridge. Experienced the same with 12v direct from my Wrangler JL battery and a Jackery 500. the issue seems to be isolated to DC power ( which was my main use case for it )

CFX35 Dometic Cooler

Very good and holds as much as indicated In the specs. Power usage is very low, only once did it drop the car battery down below 50% which is what I set the unit to shut down at. I keep it perpetually in a BMW X7 that has a dual battery system with a 12v jack which I had the dealer convert to always on even when vehicle is parked. I have to keep one of the third row seats down to accommodate. Only complaint is it can be +/- by 3-4 degrees. I think this is because it is smaller and has a harder time retaining temperature and recovering because it doesn’t want to cycle the compressor on and off too much. Also, when in freezer mode it does a shockingly good job. Overall, great to always have cold drinks and food when we are at the beach or soccer practice.
