Your windows...and wallet...will thank you.
I always cringe when I toss a buckle over my boat; hoping I measured the length in my mind right so as to not hit a window with a metal buckle. I don’t worry nearly as much about cracking our windows when I toss the rubber buckles over the roof. We also love these straps for the more delicate and pricey items like our carbon SUPs or Kevlar canoe. My wife and I use the rubber coated buckle bumpers without worrying about puncturing, scratching, or damaging the fragile material. I am still always careful not to over tighten but have a piece of mind knowing that when I do crank it down, sharp corners aren’t compromising the material.
Great for securing fishing kayak to roof rack!
The 12' length is perfect for strapping my Pelican Catch Mode 110 fishing kayak to my Accord's Thule roof rack. Good quality at an affordable price.
So far, so good
So far so good. Seem sturdy. Have been using for about a month including a six hour highway drive. Got them primarily for the rubber covered buckle. I use them to attach kayak to roof rack and the rubber covered buckle sits nice and flat against the hull of the kayak.
Quality straps. Perfect length for j-racks
These are quality straps. Easy to use. I like the rubber coating on the buckles to protect our vehicles. I bought these for use with our Kiawah LiquidLogic kayaks and J-racks. Our kayaks are 32" wide and the 12' straps are just long enough to leave a tail to pull them tight and tuck away the excess without a lot of leftover dangling strap to deal with.
Works great
Works great for strapping kayak to roof rack. Simple and quick to tighten and to release. Rubberized ends project kayak and vehicle from metal buckle. Add a twist or two to the strap to make it quieter while driving.
NRS straps are great
Strong, ez to use. I like that the strap has 12 for length completely woven in, not just on buckle. I have an old, old NRS strap from early 80's still performing strong after use for windsurfing, cycling, lumber getting and more. My four new 12's will outlive me!
wow quality gone downhill!
These used to be the best straps in the world. They are now made overseas and the quality is suffering. Already fraying after one use. I thought NRS was better than this.
Perfect!
These work so good! Perfect for our paddle-boards on to of our RAV4! They are a bit loud and vibrate so you have to twist the straps on the bottom about 4 times!
Bumpers save windows!
I have cracked a window fro the NRS straps without the bumper and that is just embarrassing. These bumpers, even though they make it just a small bit harder to thread the strap through will stop unnecessary scratches and dents to your car. Definately worth it.
Buckle Bumper Straps save windshields!
The NRS Buckle Bumper Strap saves my car when I load my kayaks. Being 5'4" it is always a stretch to strap on my kayaks. I put my Buckle Bumper Straps on first and put the end of the strap into the buckle. Once my boats are up, I can toss the strap over my kayaks without worrying if it hits my car or the windshield. (I did crack a windshield once on a strap without the bumper.) The bumper makes these great straps even better!
