First Pair of Keen Sandals
I love my new pair of Ravine H2 Keen sandals. I cannot wait to kayak and hike in them this summer. I have been experiencing heel pain in my right foot prior to owning these. It is very comfortable walking around in these, I prefer without socks. I also had to go up a half size and my foot is narrow. So happy!
Bring Back the Venice H2
So wanted to love these, as they were the closest in style to the Venice H2, with not only to the uppers but the same supportive hiking sole and tread. So why didn't I love these, the velcro strap across the heel was so stiff and uncomfortable. It had two layers of velcro making the back heel strap very thick and inflexible. I have worn Keens since discovering them in 2004 and have owned about 25-30 pairs. My current 2 pairs of the Venice H2 are 4-5 years old and have searching the internet to see if any are left in my size...no luck yet. Please, Please, Please bring back the Venice H2, I am sure other customers might feel the same way.
We do have plans to bring back the Venice H2! It should be spring/summer.
no arch support
I love keen and have an old pair of Venice that are coming unglued from the soles. I bought these to replace the old ones, but after wearing Birkenstock clogs as house shoes for a couple of years, I could not stand the lack of any arch support for my "normal" height arches. The heel cup is very padded, but it seemed so padded that it raised the back of the foot and there was just a gap where the arch support should have been. I am returning these to try a pair of Chaco Odysseys. These otherwise fit well, I usually wear 8.5 and the 9 were going to be appropriate for me,
Perfect!
I cannot slide my feet into most every single slip on sandal made anywhere. My ankles are usually too big for strappy sandals as well. These are just perfect and sooooo comfortable. Please don’t stop making these! At first I thought they were gonna run small but as I pushed my foot in as far as I could it was fine. If you’re worried about being right at the edge of the sandal then order half a size up with this particular sandal. I’m pretty sure they’re meant to fit like a glove tho. With all that said they are sooooo worth the money so get some lol. You don’t even have to break them in cuz they’re just designed so well.
Wanted to love......
Have had 5 pairs of Venice H2 and have loved them and worn them to death, so was excited to see the Ravine that looked similar in style and was a color I liked. I ordered a size 10 since that’s what fit me in Venice style. Unfortunately, the Ravine size 10 was much shorter and did not fit. I might have tried ordering a larger size, but after checking out the Velcro strap, it seems very stiff & scratchy and not something I think I’d enjoy on the back of my foot. I prefer the softer elastic back of the Venice. I’m sad to see the Venice H2 gone & would like to see it come back. I returned the Ravines the day after I received.....Keen made the return process very simple.
Thank you for writing this review and sharing your feedback about the back strap. It's unfortunate when these things don't work out, but we are glad that you sent the sandals back. The adjustable stop was designed to provide an alternative fit by being removed and turning the Ravine H2 into a slip-on/sliding sandal. If you would like help finding the right style based on your specific fit requirements please feel welcomed to call our team of KEEN experts at 1(866) 676-5336 or email info@keenfootwear.com.
Great sandals!
I decided to try the Ravine as replacement for the Venice sandals that have worn out after several years of wearing them. I loved them because I have a wide foot and they were soooo comfortable. I talked with an online chat person who told me that the Ravine is great for wide feet and she was right. I really like the adjustable Velcro straps since my feet often swell as the day goes on. The Ravine is every bit as comfortable as the Venice and especially great for those of us with wide feet. I also read some of the reviews who said they run small, so I ordered a half size larger than I usually wear and am glad I did.
Wish they would just remake the Venice sandal
Love the grape color of these! Fit was a little bit off- The footbed slightly short but plenty of room in the velcro back. The sides are stiff if you are thinking of using them as a slide/mule. But removing the velcro strap makes the issue with the slightly short footbed more obvious. Using the velcro strap just reminds you of how much better it is to easily slip in and out of the Venice sandal. The forefoot is the same wonderful comfort as the Venice but the velcro back is problematic. I expect it will rub over time. I am returning them and hoping my two pairs of Venice sandals will last until they remake them!
I am very sorry to hear this. If you are within our 30 day return window, we would be happy to accept them back and assist you in finding another style. These are ok
These Ravine H2 sandals are OK. I had a pair of Venice II H2 which were excellent. I will keep these Ravine H2 sandals but with some reservations. The velcro strap in back is very thick and gobby. I do wear socks with my sandals and this one is not quite as roomy as my old ones and pulls my sock back tighter. I feel the size is ok just the different construction makes them not as likable. Please bring back the exact Venice II H2, they were wonderful. Mine are about 3 years old and still in very good condition but was hoping these new ones would take their place. Will probably not order any more of this style.
Getting in and out is not a cinch
This ankle strap is baffling. The description: "The adjustable heel strap on this women's water/trail sandal makes getting in and out a cinch. Dial in the fit you need for different activities . . ." Who in the world thought that a long, flimsy strip that needs to be triple-layered with velcro around the back of the ankle would be "a cinch" to manage, or that changing the fit that way would be "dialed in"? I'm sorry, this strap makes getting in and out of the shoes a *hassle*. It's awkward and time-consuming. And it's really too bad, because this sandal has the beloved old Keen wide toe box that has been phased out of other Keen shoe models. But these weird straps are a deal-breaker.
Love these as slip-ons!
I have worn my 15y old leather Keen slip ons to death...the second time my daughter saw me fall in them, she said “you need sandals with straps!” I tried the Rose, but they were a hassle getting on & off, and the Velcro caught my pants. So these Ravines looked perfect. But the straps are rough, cause blisters and still catch in everything. (Velcro is a mixed blessing in shoes.) But thankfully the straps come off and the extended forefoot keeps the sandal in almost as well as a strap. I may hand sew a soft elastic strap to the back as we live on a hill, but so far they have stayed on. I am so happy with these! But I had to take a star off because the Velcro back strap is so uncomfortable...
