Great Summer Outdoor Shoe
I love to wear keens in the summer. They are supportive, cool for my feet and I can jump in any body of water with them on no problem. These new Whisper Sandals have a more narrow look which is nice. I have wide feet so I worried about the fit, but they are just as comfortable as ever.

Size WAY Up
I’m prepping for a canoe trip and need a pair of water shoes I can portage in. After reading—no exaggeration—hundreds of reviews on different Keen shoes, I bought three different pairs to try, knowing I would be sending back at least one pair. I have to admit, I was shocked by how small these Keens run. They’re a brand synonymous with wider footbeds, and while my foot trends more wide than narrow, it’s by no means wide enough to require a wide footbed. These Whispers run NARROW—through the footbed and across the top of the foot as the neoprene-style webbing over the foot has absolutely no stretch. I am a very standard size 8 with a low arch, bought these in an 8.5 based on the reviews I’d read, and would need at least a 9 to make them halfway comfortable. (I found the Newports to run even smaller, if possible—I ordered/needed a 9, but broke a sweat getting them on and a 9.5 would’ve been better. That’s a size-and-a-half difference from my normal shoe size! However, their footbed is wider than the Whisper.) The most comfortable pair and easiest to get on were the Drift Creeks, but I have the same issue in those that I had in the Whisper—my very short and stubby smallest toe sticks out of the webbing near the toe bed, and I’m not into toe flossing. I’m keeping the Newports for my canoe trip and the Drift Creeks for kayaking (when I don’t have to walk and thus my toe sticking through won’t be a pain), but the Whispers are way too small and uncomfortable to serve any purpose for me. I would recommend these only to people with narrow feet, and even then, SIZE UP.

They ripped the 3rd time I wore them.

I got my size, didn’t do anything weird, but they ripped, both shoes.

Terrible fit

While I loved these shoes in the past, this pair are too narrow and too short and too tight across the arch. Wrong in every way. The size up was also very narrow and caused blisters. Complete waste of money.

I love these KEEN walking sandals

I have wide feet, and I need a good arch in sandals and shoes. These KEEN sandals are perfect. They are wonderfully comfortable and protect my feet while I'm walking. The day they arrived, they carried me in comfort on a 4 mile walk.

Comfort Keens once again!

I previously have been living in my Keen Venice sandals, sandals that I can wear all day and walk miles in them. Decided to find another pair that can be worn the same way. These Whispers were on sale and a nice color. They look great on and are just as comfortable as my Venice sandals, maybe a slightly snugger fit than those, but perhaps haven’t quite broken them in yet. I’m happy with my purchase, they will be worn quite often. I’m usually a size 7 in regular shoes but if sandals are wide enough I can fit 6.5, which is what I bought in these Keens.

Strap hits ankle

The inside is fine, but the strap on the outside is too high and rubs on my ankle bones. I wore them around the house for several days and noticed some discomfort on the outside ankle bone. I decided to wear them on a 2 mile walk and returned with open sores on both outside ankle bones (lateral malleolus). I am very disappointed as otherwise they are comfortable. I may need to return them.

The only sandal I will wear

I absolutely love my keen whisper sandals. I love them so much that I will continue to wear them well into November and I Iiterally count the days until March 1st when I break them back out again. I have a huge bunion on both feet & it is extremely difficult for me to find a pair of shoes that aren't killing my feet after 1 hour. But thanks to the Keen whisper sandals I am pain free.

Great hiking sandal

Love these. On my 3rd pair. Great fit, grippy soles, perfect hiking sandal. Walk through water and just keep going. Cool and airy hikers for the summer. Great toe protection. Normally I'm size 8.5, but I find size 8 in this sandal works best for me.
