So pleasantly surprised!

I tried out many camp chairs before selecting this one. I have low back and hip pain, and the design of most camp chairs puts pressure on the hips as you sit. This one is very stable, very comfortable, and you can even lean against the back of it without tipping. I recently sat in this chair for about 3 hours as I worked on a hand sewing project at my camp site, and it was actually comfortable! No back or hip pain. Can't recommend this chair enough. Folds up easily, beverage holder, carrying strap....two thumbs up.

Not suitable for my needs--was looking for something light and portable to take to outdoor events. This chair would be awkward to carry and not very comfortable for a long time.

Highly recommend this stool/seat!

I got tired of hauling those larger chairs around to my grandson’s baseball games so, I bought this stool. It’s very easy to carry and it is very light weight. I looked at those chairs that come in a bag and another person at the games have one but you got to put it together and it takes time. After the game he is taking his apart to put in that bag, I am already loading mine in the car. The seat is comfortable to sit on for hours and you can even lean back on it! The shoulder strap is nice and when you pull on the shoulder strap the stool folds up and you are ready to go. Highly recommend this stool. I plan on buying another one for my wife!

Great for birding

We have two of these, and take them when we go birding on county roads. They are handy for roadside tailgating—when picnic tables are scarce. Plus they are light enough to carry to spots where we know we will be standing a while like when viewing shorebirds. Or we just want to sit lakeside and watch for birds dropping in. They are not as comfortable as full size chairs but are easy to shoehorn into a car full of other birding gear. They are very sturdy and we’ve had them for several years. I also have an REI collapsible stool for hiking when I’ll be away from the car for a while. It’s backless though but fits in a day pack. Both styles have their use.

Perfection on three legs

We needed something that was sturdy, had a back to it, could fit in a small space, and was easy to set up. THIS. IS. PERFECT. When we go offroading in the Jeep, we don't want to have to assemble something for a 15-minute break. These fit in the back with all the recovery gear, they're solid when you sit down, and when we're ready to hit the trails again, we just pull up on the carry strap, they fold, we throw them in the back, and we're back at it. On top of that, we aren't young (or small) anymore, my knees have very little cartilage left, hubs has degenerative discs in his back and these are the perfect height off the ground to make getting up/down easy peasy.

Perfect for duck blinds!

Wanted a small chair for use in a cramped pond-side duck blind, but needed low back support not found on typical flat stools. Decided to take a chance on a tripod chair vs larger folding chair. While the blind did end up having room for a chair, this gem did the trick perfectly, and it was easier to stand quickly from this one. Sat for over 4 hours in comfort. Posture is more upright in this than a roomier chair, but for my intended use, that was immaterial. Bonus: the cup holder held a bunch of shells! Folds and cleans easily. Sturdy enough for me at 220#.

Little camp chair

I needed a camp chair without armrests so this looked good but wow is it small. Looks like something for an 8 year old. I’m keeping it tho because it actually works well when playing a guitar around a fire without being in the way. Also I only weigh a buck sixty so my rear fits ok on the seat. Your mileage may vary depending on, well you know…..But probably best if you could test it in the store first. I should also say you sit very upright and not swayed back like a lot of camp chairs. Works for me.

Great stool in a pinch

Needed a chair for my rig. As a sound tech it’s always tough to find a seat. GCI got it right. Not only is this chair low profile is light weight and very comfortable. I’m going to check out their other products and replace some of my older fold up chairs.

lightweight and comfortable

We bought these for a music festival because our older chairs were too heavy to lug around (1 mile walk to and from the site). These were very easy to carry with the built-in sling strap and light enough that they were no problem. I found the triangular seat worked fine and having a back on the chair, not just a stool, was very comfortable. A good choice and a good price.

Happily surprised!

I was honestly super surprised with how comfortable this little chair is. Though I am only 5 foot five and 125 pounds. The back rest really makes a difference and it seems stable for a 3 leg. I just discovered that it has a pull out strap that you can carry it over your shoulder. I’m using it to paint plein aire style, sitting for three hours or more. My only disappointment was when it said it was a stool. I thought it was a taller height, but I just adjusted my easel and it worked out great.

Great little stool for your travel adventures

I purchased this specifically for doing the Ragbrai bike ride across Iowa. This chair was perfect in that it required little space for packing and was great to use around the camp in the evening. It's not terribly large, but I found it relatively comfortable and perfect for an hour of use at a time. It's well made, and I look forward to many other adventures.
