The sole is worn already
The sole is worn already and they are pretty beaten up now. I am a city carrier for the post office and walk about 9 miles. They unfortunately have not held up. I won't be buying these again. I wanted these to last because I love Danners. I submitted pictures so you can see. I just bought these late June of this year and it's only November. They did keep me dry on our first snow.
This is my third pair
This is my third pair of Danner’s I also have a pair of Bull run moc toe and Loggers 917 gtx. This pair like the loggers I had to break in but only because my feet have bunions and the the toe box is a bit more narrow. Other than that they fit like a glove and the more I wear them the more comfortable they get. I love the way they look. Will buy another in the future.
Grippy and comfortable. Generous sizing.
Comfortable walking shoes. Very grippy bottom. Comes with black and red laces. I usually wear a size 8.5 and the size 8 is perfect with a half inch left at the toe, even wearing thick socks. This is my second pair of these. Had to get a new pair as the first pair were stolen from my car. I guess someone else appreciates Donner quality too.
I had the Mountain 600s
I had the Mountain 600s that I wore to bits, then went to Blundstones that are pretty much worn out, but was looking for something smart looking in all black and was happy to find these Vertigos on sale. Goodbye red laces--I'm loving the look of the black on black and grateful Danner gives you two choices. These are perfect for life in northern Utah where I can wear these and look polished but also deal with freezing temps, snow, slush and slick terrain without having to change shoes. I wear 7 in Blundstone, 37 in Birkenstocks, and 7.5 in Ons and find a 7 fit perfect in thin to low cushion socks.
This is a very good
This is a very good looking boots that doesn’t feel as good as some other Danner models on the feet. It is a little narrow and you don’t get the flexibility and comfort you got with Inquire Chukka. I was abroad when they arrived I would have returned them otherwise.
I bought these boots because
I bought these boots because I was in the search for cute, comfortable city walking shoes. I live in a big east coast city and have four year old twin boys. I spend hours a day pushing a double stroller over imperfect sidewalks and I needed shoes that were easy to put on, easy to take off, simple to clean, light weight, and comfortable. These boots have met all my needs and exceeded my expectations. I love them. I’ve worn them nearly every day since they arrived. There was no break in period, they have been comfortable since day one. I am normally an 8 1/2 and I did size up to a 9 to ensure that I’d have space for thick winter socks. I’m glad I made that choice. I couldn’t be more pleased with these boots.
Beautiful and functional
I love these boots! Quality and craftsmanship are great. The sand color is a nice neutral that I can wear with jeans, chinos, skirts, etc. I do find that the seam between the exterior forefoot and heel, where the goring is sewn in has rubbed right below my ankle joint(but that’s my foot, I must have a lower set ankle than most?). It’s where 3 pieces of material come together so there’s a bulky seam in the interior. I wear a small bandaid and then it’s ok. Anyway, I might need to file the seam allowance down but I’m hoping to just wear it down. The shoes are super comfortable except for that seam bit and have held up nicely even in snow and stuff.
Beautiful but SO terribly uncomfortable
I wanted so badly to love these. They are SO cute and were sold to me as a great light/day hiker that can go from the trail to the bar. Exactly what I was looking for. Unfortunately, just walking around my house in them (with thick wool socks) yielded blisters, bruises where the top of the boot hit and rubbed my lower calf/upper ankle/Achilles area, and bleeding sores from rubbing where the grommet hooks were even through the socks. There's NO WAY you could even remotely comfortably walk around town in these, let alone do any light hiking. Nope. Sadly returning.
Comfy
I bought these boot for traveling. So far they made it through Mexico City and I am planning on bringing them to Europe in a few months. They are very comfortable and great for walking in the city!!
Best walking/city boot!
I purchased this boot as a "travel boot" My firdt trip to New Orleasns for Mardi Gras using these boots was amazing. No break in period, no blisters, no pain anywhere on my feet. Definitely water proof I accidentally stepped in many puddles. We walked on average of 10 miles per day for 4 days in a row. Looked cute with hiking pants, jeans and leggings (even went well with my flashy Mardi Gras outfit. They were the only pairnof shoes I took.
