Best Bag Ever
I never write reviews but this is the best bag I've ever owned. I am a graduate student in nyc and it's perfect for school, the gym, or even a weekend trip. I love the look of it and it is SO practical, I can fit so much in it, I love the shape and it's kept my laptop so safe (I even spilled water in the backpack part and it didn't get my laptop wet at all!). The handles help with carrying it too. The side pockets are small for water bottles so I just use them for other things like my umbrella. 10000% recommend this bag
Stylish understated but unfortch shows dust easily
I bought this black-on-black-on-black Kanken as a work backpack. It's a great size, looks smallish and can fit a 16 inch Macbook Pro separately in its own section. I own another Kanken where I normally shove the laptop inside the bigger compartment in the same slit as where the padded seating pad is stored. However the downside though is, this got super annoying to take my laptop out if my bag was full, even with being able to fully zip the bag open like a clamshell. That's why I bought this with the dedicated laptop section. Though as lovely and lightweight as this Kanken was, I didn't realise how much dust and debris this black big will pick up and it's going to start to look really worn. I left it on the floor of my bedroom (dusty floorboards) and it was such a magnet to the dust particles that I decided to return. This also costs more than the regular Kanken laptop bags due to the logo/trimmings/bag handles being made from leather (looks classier IMHO) and the shoulder straps are padded so theoretically should be more comfortable to wear in the long run, especially if you're going to be carting around a heavy laptop. I still like this style so I might buy in a light color that won't show the dust as easily. I really wanted to love this because I can imagine it matching so many outfits but alas it wasn't meant to be.
The Perfect Everyday Bag
It's stylish, fits way more than you would expect, and it's durable. What more could you ask for? Just yesterday it fit: my laptop, it's charger, an outdoor blanket, my water bottle, and my workout shirt. Whenever I carry it around I get compliments on it, even as a guy!
