I bought this two years ago for backpack archery elk hunting. I had a full hip replacement 3 years ago so I needed a thick pad because I am a side sleeper. I have used this pad the past two elk seasons and I think it is more comfortable than my bed at home! Very light, packs small and easy to inflate. Very happy I invested in this piece of gear.
My husband and I bought 2 of these pads to replace ancient self inflating type, and I am so glad. We used them on a weeklong cycling trip and found them extremely comfortable. The small pack size and weight are added bonuses. We used a fitted double sheet to keep the 2 mattresses together -- worked great -- but will probably get the lighter Nemo product to accomplish the same. I do hope the Tango comforter will become available for the 25 duo width!
I received this as a birthday gift in prep for an upcoming backpacking trip and just had the chance to test it out- It packed up so small! (especially compared to my giant previous sleeping mat), is easy and quick to inflate, and--- most importantly, was very comfortable! My husband has heard me complain about my hips hurting while camping (side sleeper), did his research and chose the Nemo brand with this in mind. One use in, I am very happy
I've been using this sleeping pad (in orange) for maybe 2 years now, and it is still holding air flawlessly. I'm a side sleeper and have bony hips, but with this pad my hips don't touch the ground! Also the hump down by the pillow is so great because it helps keep my pillow on the pad and raises my pillow up to a perfect height for me. Also packs down to the size of a chipotle burrito. I tell all my friends to buy it!
I used this sleeping pad for part of a 6-month thru-hike on the Appalachian Trail. The Astro Air Lite 20R is perfect for warmer temperatures - the 'minimum temp zone' stated is 35-45 degrees and I would definitely agree with that. This sleeping pad is extremely comfortable, compact, easy to inflate and durable. The built-in pillow is nice too! Great piece of gear for any kind of backpacking or camping trip. Enjoy!
I bought my astro lite sleeping pad a few years ago for a trip with a friend. I had to get everything packed to fly to our start location and this pad far exceeded all expectations! It was easy to pack and comfortable. I was able to travel with it, take it on a kayak camping trip, backpacking, car camping, the works. And it had held up well over the years of abuse (including dogs). Highly recommend.
I just went on a multi-day hike in the Sierra mountains after roughly 15 years of limiting my hiking to daytrips with the family. Of course, I had to buy a lot of new gear. I rank my Nemo insulated sleeping pad as the best purchase of all my new gear. It was super comfortable to sleep on, packs nice a small and is ultra lightweight. I camped in below 30 degree weather and this pad kept me completely warm. (At one point, I felt the ground just to check how cold it was and was amazed at how well this was insulated.) My tent mate had a different Nemo insulated pad and he was super happy with his as well (unlike our buddies who were freezing with self-inflated pads). I was able to blow it up fairly quickly with roughly 20 deep breaths. Takes a minute to roll up small but well worth it. Hint: let just a bit of air out after blowing it up completely to provide some give for side sleepers.
I've had this pad for a few years and it has held up great on hundreds of miles worth of backpacking and too many nights to count. My partner and I use these with our Duo Tango Nemo Double Sleeping Bag / Quilt and it works great. The insulation really helps on colder trips, too. It's pretty quick to blow up and is comfortable for sleeping after a long day on the trail.
Used on a self supported cross country bicycle tour and a Central Europe tour. Packs very small, great valve system, easy to blow up & deflate. Comfortable & has held up great so far, been used in excess of 40 nites Only issue is that it is a bit noisy/squeaky That said I fully reccomend it
Just completed 9 night adventure kayaking and sleeping under the stars at Lake Powell. The superior performance of the Astro Sleeping Pad kept my mind on the blanket of stars above, not the rocks below. Your design allows easy inflating and compact storage. Just love it!
