Definitely DO NOT Recommend
To all my Ultralite Backpackers out there... AVOID THIS SHELTER. There are many other wiser ways you can get what you need. I was stoked to use this in the Smoky Mountains but nearly got screwed on night 1... late night rain came in and the Nemo GoGo failed wildly at keeping me dry. Unsure if it was the seams or of the material is just not truly waterproof. After drying it out the next day, the next 3 nights were still sub-par. Do shelters build condensation? Of course. But not so bad that you still run the risk of being soaked even on a dry night. Luckily no gear was ruined in the process due to all the moisture. Poor breathability and poor design in my personal experience and opinion. Will be pursuing other Ultralight options.
GoGo Elite works nicely!
I purchased the GoGo Elite to use as a back up on a long bicycle tour, in case hotels could not be reached or found. It performed as expected and was quite fun to use! It packs up very small and fit in the saddle bag on the bicycle. Set up is very quick. I had no condensation issues with the WX conditions I used it in. It is a single wall tent, so condensation is possible, but I knew that going into the purchase and am miffed when other customers complain about it knowing the same! The head of the GoGo Elite is also nice. It is much roomier than expected, for storing some gear. The mesh is nice to keep the bugs out, and later in the evening when it got cooler, I would zip closed the outside “fly” portion and I would warm up nicely.
The best on the market.
The gogo elite may seem small, but in reality I think of it as the most palacial bivy on the market. You MUST understand as a single wall tent it has limitation in terms of condensation. The gogo is an amazing shelter, but not a luxury, that's more the blaze 1p. The gogo really shines when you've got no space, need to set up quickly, or if you're in a dry climate. There are some trade offs for the thin fabric and lack of ground cloth. But carrying the gogo plus a couple of small patches got me through a month in the desert with tons of free pack space and it's still looking good. The airbeam holds up well even in consistent 50 mph winds. If you're really in a rush you can even just use the gogo like a bivy sack.
Light, small but not that durable
I bought one of these many years ago. Very light and packable. Perfect for overnighting while hiking. It is small, as in you can't sit. So as far as changing clothes and all that, everything is outside. Not ideal for rain, it will withstand it, but your sleeping bag might get humid where it's in direct contact with the tent. Hard to fit a backpack with you. Also the interior fabric doesn't age well. I unpacked the tent recently after a few years of storage and the interior fabric had kind of glued together... then I realised it's kind of drying and the inside fabric is falling as little flakes, also the sealing on the sewing seems to be peeling (it is at least 10 years...). In the end, I'll keep using it for light travel, but I'll avoid it for any rainy weather. A tarp or any supplemental rain protection can go a long way.
Thank you for the review of the Gogo Elite, and we are sorry to hear that your shelter is experiencing some problems with the inner coating of the fabric. Please reach out to our customer service team and they would be happy to start the warranty process with you.
expiration date
fine tent but the waterproofing fails after time flakes off and flies straight into your lungs. keep your receipt and your good to go if you do not have you eat it literally
