Great cycling computer
Bought this as a replacement for my Edge 510 and absolutely love it. Screen is nice, colourful and great clarity. The option to create multiple custom screens is really handy. Depending on where I am riding I pull up a screen that focuses on my cadence, average speed, heart rate, etc, all of them are editable and easy to scroll though. You can even have them automatically scroll at a given time count. The text feature is nice, any texts popup on the screen with an alert. As I have an iPhone I cannot respond to text via the 520, but if my wife needs me to call immediately the message starts with 911 and I just have to stop. One of the handiest features is the ability of groups to see where other riders in your group are on your 520 map. Extremely handy. Overall a great unit and very happy with the purchase.
Superior navigation.
If your reading this then Ill cut to the chase. If you want a true navigational device this is it. Wahoo will tell you every physical metric there is which you’ll need while you find your way home. The Garmin will get you home.
Great GPS but with button placement flaws
I really liked this device but the button placement makes it very difficult to swap pages while riding. The screen was bright and the Navigation was second to none. I compared it to the Wahoo Bolt and the new Garmin Edge Explore. The layout on the pages are easy to change and lots of things you can add.
Finally the 520 has maps.
I just received my new 520 Plus and I love it. It is the same layout as the 520 but with full map capability.
Great computer
Easy to use. I love that the main screen is user definable so you see the stats you're most interested in. There is a learning curve to navigating the different menus, but not to tough. Also lover that it syncs with Strava. Highly recommend this computer!
Excellent upgrade to 520
Pre loaded maps and turn by turn are excellent additions!
Pairing Problems
Purchased this device with high hopes, as it is a Garmin product. Out of the box, the device would not pair to Garmin connect. Continually said fail to completely pair. The device would pair to my phone but not Garmin connect. I did everything imaginable. Restarted phone, upgraded software on phone, restarted the edge and still would not work. Found a Garmin forum that stated the edge 520 plus is know to have this issue. I have a IPhone 6S. My watch connects on dime but not the 520 plus. I will be returning the product ASAP.
Is there a "made for Android" version?
I purchased an Edge 520 Plus and have tracked a handful of activities so far. Sometimes I have difficulty with the uploads. I noticed on my device's box it says Made for iPhone. The salesperson did not ask whether I use an iPhone or an Android. Should I have purchased a different version of the 520 plus made for Android?
It's 2018 it should not be this difficult!
Spent 4 hours trying to get this thing to sync with my phone and Strava app. I finally got it working (I think). Wake up the next day for a ride and it was no longer synched and had to start over again. My phone and “map my ride” app work just fine for the 2-4 hour rides I go on. I returned the product with out ever using it and purchased Wahoo speed and cadence meters to sync up with map my ride app.
Great for cycling
I'm very happy with my purchase. I bought it specifically to use in Dirty Kanza, and it performed flawlessly.
