Perfect for cold and windy places

Took this jacket to Iceland and it kept me warm at 28°F-35°F (with a long-sleeved thermal underneath of course). Main thing to be mindful of is that it isn't waterproof and never claims to be - but it does have a DWR (durable water repellent) coating which causes most of the rain to bead up and roll off. I will say that the first day it encountered a real hard rain, most of the rain would fall off with a good shake but it did have a few dark spots toward the end of the day. Size: I buy Patagonia (size: small) because they seem to fit me better than other brands - I'm 5'6, 140lbs. I imagine this means they run a little small for most.

Everything I need for wisconsin winter

Very well thought out but simple design, I hope to have this jacket for a long time. I especially appreciate the hood and wrist cuffs. The outer material does seem to be on the thinner side, I would hesitate to use this jacket on super technical pursuits or for working outdoors but it is perfect for around town or all day walks in the snow. At 6’3” 260 I was between the XL and XXL but went with the XXL to leave room for layering underneath.
