Nice, Lightweight Hat
These are nice, lightweight hats that are very comfortable and breathable. They are also somewhat fragile. I had the adjustable toggle break off completely, just by simply putting the hat on. Warranty covered it, no problem. The little foam insert where the brim meets your head, helps with comfort. The 25 UPF is not the greatest, but will get the job done for most people. Also, of note, for those of you with enormous melon-heads like myself, the newer 2017 versions are smaller (less fabric) than the pre-2017 versions. I am probably in the minority, because of my colossal head size, but I preferred the previous sizing pattern. Maybe a L/XL and S/M sizing option on future models? *wink, wink, nudge, nudge*
My first running cap
very small, light, easy to pack cap, I'm using it in running to protect my head from the sun, it's great at catching the sweat, it also doesn't get uncomfortable when wet, and is so light it will dry on your head while wearing it. It doesn't suit my face that well, probably better for a longer face, but function overrules fashion for me in this case. Fit is also great and it stays on tight. It's also easy to wash and doesn't lose shape. Don't wear it in reverse because the fitting toggle will annoy your forehead. Not just for running, you can wear it for anything.
Mental
I purchased this hat some time ago and fell in love. So much so that I just bought another one in a different colour! Why is it so good? Well, first of all it fits really well, just happens to suit my face/head (or at least that's what the wife is saying) and it does a really good job at wicking away moisture. I have a skin colour that just hates the sun; I burn really easily, so I need to wear a hat most of the time when out in the mountains... this one does a great job... recommended.
Great bit of kit.
I bought the cap to protect my head and keep the sweat out of my eyes on a 63 mile ultra marathon and I have to say "it was fantastic". Really comfortable from the start and in all my training leading up to the event. I never wear hats or caps as the just don't suit me but due to the lightness of material and adjustability I've found a gem that I'll be using all the time from now on. It also looks pretty cool so I'll be taking it on holiday to keep the sun off my solar panel.
Utilitarian Chic
Love this hat, it’s fashionable, functional and practical. Google image search this hat to see other people wearing it first, though, to get a sense of how it actually looks on-head. While the product photography is great, the hat itself isn’t as structured as the picture suggests. Product photo does a good job of showing the volume of the hat but the material itself is drapey and forms to the shape of your dome. Design is A+ as always.
Ultimate lightweight hat
I own a ton of Motus shirts and am a big fan of the material, so it was a no-brainer to buy the motus hat. I used it primarily in road/trail runs - found that the hat was perfect for hot conditions. It wicked sweat extremely well, dries quickly, and is so lightweight that I didn't notice it most of the time. The material is stretchy (think spandex level stretchy) and lacks a permanent form, which makes it conform to any shaped head. My only issue is the closure system - its a string system with a plastic stopper. On one of my hats, the string ripped from the hat (which was covered under the warranty). Also, minor issue - the loop is a bit awkward if you like wearing the cap backwards and would flap when running (I tucked it inside the cap). All considered, a great performance cap, but if you're seeking a more traditional cap, maybe consider the elaho cap.
best summer hat
I live and hike in the desert southwest. I had this hat in a blue and I have tried about 5 different hats this is the lightest, most comfortable and has the best adjustment. Black is a silly color to wear on your head when it's 98 degrees out, and if you hike in the mountains orange is a hunters color. I fail to understand considering all the reviews why they won't add other colors suitable for summer hikes.
Nearly Perfect
I run about 80-90 miles/week in a Motus. It's light, packable and stylish. And even stays on for the most part on windy days. Patagonia's duckbill hats are ok if you want to look like the fresh prince of belair (for Halloween) other than that don't.
Great hat - could be a bit more snug fit
Love the light weight, breathable material! Was shipped and arrived promptly. Also, the adjustment to loosen/tighten is quick - no velcro. Would like a little more adjustment to make the Cap fit tighter on windy days. Can you make this cap in white?
SO Comfortable
I love this cap! It’s so comfortable I forget I’m wearing it, and my head never feels hot when I have it on my head. That it folds up to fit in my smallest gym bag is simply icing, as is the fact that it’s super-cute!
