Not sure about that other review

OK - I am 6'4" tall, with broad shoulders. While I don't weigh 300 lbs, I'm not exactly delicate and thin either. I fit on this cot, and have used it successfully several times. I do put an air mattress on it to make it more comfortable. I also was able to easily fit two of these into our large cabin tent. It is not perfect, but I certainly wouldn't call it flimsy. That said, it is not perfect. It is very heavy, even when folded up it is a bit bulky, it is a bit of a pain to put up and take down, and you definitely need to figure out a way to protect your tent floor before you lay this thing down on it. But for big, tall guys like me, that struggle to fit into narrower beds, it is a winner. It is also tall so big guys can get in and out of it easier - that's a feature not a problem.

ALPS Mountain XL Camp Cot

I bought 3 of these cots four years ago. Sleeping on many cots during my years in the Army, this camp cot gets 5 stars. Easy to assemble and large enough for me. At 240 lbs and XL -30 degree sleeping bag, I sleep all night. I would recommend this to anyone. I wish I had one of these back in my Army days. Hooah!!

Good value at lower price points

I paid $79 for this cot and that's about what it's worth. It is heavy, but it is big with plenty of room. It is fairly stable, though quite high off the ground (good for the tall guys and gals, I guess). Assembly is a bit clunky and you don't want to pack this thing more than about 100' from the car to the campsite. But it's a big cot, and it works.

It's huge, but is it safe?

I've been looking at cots for my husband over the past several months. He's tall with previous back injuries. I want him to be comfortable so we can go camping more often. I ordered this XL cot to see if its sway was less than the Kelty version. It is not. In fact, it sways more. It's built taller and wider, but with the same frame thickness, so despite it claiming to support 325lbs, I doubt it. My daughter and I tried it out together. She couldn't escape it fast enough. I don't think this would hold 300lb individual safely (or two 150lb persons-- because it's certainly wide enough to do so). I'm returning it to the store. IF this cot had been designed shorter to the ground and narrower, it likely would do what it claims to do. But the sway is bad and it would be difficult to fit even into our cabin tent.

Great big cot , but hard to get out of.

The xl cot is huge, and more like a hammock, comfortable but hard to get into and out of because of height above ground and loose fitted cloth material. It sags badly and your tush gets so low that under knees get hung up on cross bar.

Glamping Cot

This is the largest cot I have ever seen in my life! I wanted a roomy glamping cot but even this was too much for me and I returned it. I'm a 5'6", 170 lb lady, and this could probably fit two snuggly people or one larger person with plenty of wiggle room.

Lots of space

Plenty of room on this oversized cot. It packs down into an easy to carry fold up although it has some weight to it. The only reason I didn’t give it the full 5 stars is that is could be a bit more sturdy. Altogether, I’m very satisfied with the product.
