A pretty good single wall tent
This tent is fairly easy to set up, and has 5 guy lines included, which is a big plus. The tent is roomy for one, a little tight for 2, although when guyed out properly, the interior room is greatly improved. The only complaint I have is that the tent is made of nylon, not polyester, and thus sags a good bit when damp. I solved this minor problem by using elastic loops on the staking loops and guyouts, making the loops out of short sections of shock cord. The tent has a vent, which is a nice feature, but condensation still forms on the interior. I mop it up periodically with a piece of microfiber. Condensation is just a fact of life in a single wall tent. The tent weighs almost 2 pounds, but that is due to the tent body being coated nylon, rather than the lighter weight silnylon found on other (more expensive) tents. This tent is a bargain!
So far so good
So far so good with the tent..been on 2 overnighter with it so far very easy to set up and I stayed dry in a blizzard (8 inches wet snow). Only things I wish it had were some sort of footprint for spring or summer to keep bugs out..possibly something fitted that can be used to give you an idea where to stake out to? Not sure if mountainsmith would ever see this or not. Also if the vent was a little larger that would probably help with condensation because the vented area seems like it's a 6x triangle which isn't very much room for air to vent in my opinion.
