Love this shirt for travel

I purchased 2 of these shirts for a recent trip to Alaska through the Inside Passage and up and into Denali NP, taking the Kantishna Experience Tour (as far into the park the road goes). They were perfect! I could layer them when it was colder, roll the sleeves up when warmer or roll the sleeves down to avoid mosquitos, could dress them up or down, and they always looked great! They dried quickly when washed. Very happy these are available in plus sizes as good active travel clothes are hard to find.

Finally, active wear for larger ladies!

I wear this shirt for kayaking as well as hiking. Cool and comfortable. I got the blue color, which is gorgeous. Love being able to roll up the sleeve, plus the back venting and convenient chest pockets. I even jump into the water with it when I paddle to shore.

too big but I like it

I am not a 2x, but I threw on the shirt anyways and I really liked how much more roomy and tunic-like it ended up being. I have some of these shirts in my actual size, and I always wished they were a little longer or that I had more room for another shirt underneath, but for some reason it never occurred to me to upsize-- maybe because I don't like to look like I"m swimming in clothes. Well, this still has a nice shape to it even when it is "too big."

Looks professional for work

Fits generously so looks nice over a tank top. Very comfortable to wear all day and still looks fresh after a busy day.

Runs small in chest

Lovely material, silky and light. New moon color is much darker in actuality - not as light as pictured. Also ran extremely small in chest. I am returning for size up. I like a loose fit for walking/hiking, not floppy but I couldn't even button this in my usual size! Haven't worn yet but nicely fashioned

Why'd you get rid of the real Silver Ridge?

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] The non "Lite" version was better. It was a thicker fabric, and therefore slightly more structured. This fabric is thinner, making it a repeat for the fabric used in the Tamiami II shirts. The regular Silver Ridge ran small, though, and this does not. This shirt is verrry long and cut oddly so the bottom flared away from the fullest part of my hips, which is NOT a good look. Just a weird garment and I returned it. I was so disappointed because the color selection for the Silver Ridge shirts are so much better than the Tamiami II or the Bonehead (hello normal shirt colors!) but now even they are not an option. Bring back the regular Silver Ridge, please, and in a decent selection of colors that do not blind people with brightness!

Great Travel Shirt

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I purchased 2 of these shirts for a trip to Alaska May/June 2018. I was looking for something that would protect from the sun (Melanoma survivor) as well as mosquitos. I wanted something I could stay cool in when active but also layer when needed. This shirt was perfect for my needs. It is light and packs well, drying quickly when washed. I could dress it up with nice black pants or wear with jeans. We just returned from our 12-day trip and I'm back looking for a short sleeved version for an upcoming trip to SE Asia next winter.

Good quality, nice fit!

Columbia makes nice gear, and this shirt is no exception. What I especially appreciate about this shirt is that the sleeves aren't as tight as on some other field shirts I've tried--my upper arms have some breathing space! The rest of the cut is good too. Nicely done Columbia and thanks to REI for carrying it in plus sizes!
