Feels like my home kitchen
Oh my, this baby has a lot of usable room. We go camping with a very large group (10-12 people) and one of the people in our group all ready had the original Mountain Summit Gear Kitchen that really impressed us with the quality and how easy it was to set up and take down. So, I thought this would be a nice addition because of the extra storage. It takes about a minute longer to set up simply because you need to attach the hanging shelf to 4 easy little hooks but it is well woth it fot the extra storage we need with so many people. quality is second to none as well as easy to use.

Wobbly, Unstable, Impossible Hinges, Avoid
Purchased this for car camping to centralize and organize our cooking setup. Extremely disappointed and returned after one weekend. This camp kitchen lacks any durability or stability and needs a solid re-think. This may seem like a sour apples review but we really did try this and want to like it. With 30 years of experience camping, backpacking, and traveling through the backcountry, I’ve used everything from homemade semi-permanent camp kitchens to dug-out snow ledges in remote Montana backcountry. The aluminum used in this is extremely thin and the hinges on our kitchen were extremely tight. The ultralight construction borders on flimsy and any extra pressure to lock the legs out risks bending the metal. Stability on anything other than a perfectly flat surface is difficult, at best, and the main shelf is barely large enough for a 2-burner stove. REI is a great source for good backcountry equipment but this kitchen is a solid miss. It’s just... all wrong. Ultralight where it doesn’t need to be without being compact, and unstable where you expect it to anchor your weekend home’s kitchen. If you plan to use this 1-2x a year and let it sit in the closet, you’ll probably be fine. If you plan on using this any more frequently, you’ll probably wind up taking advantage of REI’s excellent return policy before the end of the first season. If you’re thinking of buying this, Google the reviews from other sites first and save yourself the pain. If those don’t keep you from pulling the trigger, make sure you find some good oil for those aluminum hinges, and study up on galling/binding properties of that metal - because whoever designed it slept through that class during their engineering degree.

Extremely tight hinges

The tight hinges have basically destroyed my unit. My unit lasted 1 week over a year and now the tight hinges have pulled the side moulding off the table causing the raw edges to become exposed. Since the hinges are so tight it causes the table to sit lob-sited. If I could extend the hinges into their locking position then I would have 0 qualms with this table. Sadly, the tight hinges show the company's neglect to quality control. Had the legs been extended before leaving the factory, this issue would have been spotted instead of being passed onto the customer. Cheers Mountain Summit Gear. Thanks for providing an over priced and poorly made product.

I love this thing!

When I first picked this up, my husband thought it was junk, but changed his mind after several camping trips. Great for RV or car camping, but I also use it for cooking Korean BBQ (which smokes a lot!) out on the porch year round. Easily fits a two burner propane stove or single burner butane stove. The cabinet is really handy to store all my pots, pans and dinnerware. I use the bottom metal shelf under the stove area to store my cast iron griddle and pots when not in use. Very sturdy! Everytime we go RV camping with family and friends, people ask about my table and I point them here!

Best stove so far

Super versatile. Setup is simple (90 seconds). Storage option helps you stay organized. Paired with my Pack-N-Prep it allows me a second stove for bigger groups. Storage shelf installation could use some improvement as it takes the longest to install. Table support can get in the way of the d-rings you need to hook the storage into plus velcro straps to lock into the legs are hard to reach sometimes. Only wish is that the legs were adjustable for uneven terrain. Overall best stove stand I’ve used so far.

Cooker-Maker Station!

We have named this the ‘cooker-maker station’ as our daughter named me the ‘best cooker-maker’ in hen she was very young! We recently traveled cross country in our camper (cargo trailer converted) and our kitchen inside doesn’t allow cooking space. Only prep and washing dishes. Our table wasn’t sufficient for cooking and eating, so I checked the REI while we were in Jackson and they had this table in stock which was exactly what I was envisioning! I love this table, it works perfect for what my needs were!

Wouldn't go car camping without it

I think a lot of the reviews are hard on this because it is fussy to set up and the hinges aren't always easy to move. This is our third year with this kitchen and I absolutely love it. I was struggling with the hinges being stiff and my husband put a dab of oil on them and now they are smooth. The materials are lightweight and do need to be treated a bit delicately. I wouldn't sit or stand on it. But honestly I cooked a meal with four people and a great dane in a crowded camping shelter and this was sturdy and safe enough to cook bacon for everyone including the great dane. Honestly people need a bit more common sense. It's not perfect, but it's so portable and makes cooking proper meals outside so much better.

Great table for car camping kitchen.

Recently took this table camping and it fit my two burner stove perfectly with extra room for prep and storage. Easy to clean. I was worried about the stability reading other reviews but I found it to be stable enough I was never worried about it tipping over (we did have a large water container on the lower shelf helping to weigh it down). Obviously while camping the ground will be uneven so some instability is expected. The only downside was the manufacturer messed up one of the Velcro straps (it was backwards) but that didn’t impact the overall use of the table. Definitely happy with this purchase!

Great kitchen camp table

Love it! Just took it out for its first test run. Did an overnight car camping trip. Super easy to set up and store. Lots of shelves. Love the canvas “cupboard”. Definitely would recommend.

Good in theory, failure in practice

Great functionality but poor manufacturing and design (and material choices). We used this kitchen for camping and it was under a pop-up awning when it rained. The fold out section with the storage TOP is not water resistant and warped after being left out for one night. Also, as others have said, the hinges are utter garbage and terrible to use.
