Rated 1 out of 5 by from Auto deploy kickstand not available anymore Be aware that the latest 2017 model no longer has the auto deploy kickstand. That may not seem like a big deal, but it’s one of the reasons I got the Kelty Pathfinder 3.0 in the first place. I am a small woman (5’3” and 140 pounds). The current kickstand is placed very high and far from the torso so it is impossible for me to reach myself. Because of this, I can’t open or close the kickstand while wearing it. I have to hike with the kickstand open which takes up a lot more space when I’m maneuvering tight spaces and quite frankly looks ridiculous. Other brands like Deuter and Osprey have the kickstand closer to the body so you can actually reach it. I am planning to return the Kelty and get another brand of carrier. Other issues: the sunshade it comes with is a pain to put on and put away. It also covers my daughter’s line of sight so she can’t see much with the sunshade on. She likes to see everything so this is a problem. As a result, I rarely use the sunshade and just put a hat and sunscreen on her instead. The only good thing I have to say is that Kelty customer service was very quick to respond.

We recommend contacting Rainy Pass Repair for information on repairing/replacing parts of your pack. You can also contact your local REI store for suggestions of local gear repair specialists.

What's the recommended age limit? How young can baby be to safely use this pack?

Asked by: Gemz
The maximum weight capacity for just the child is 40 pounds. The total weight capacity for child and gear is 50 pounds. The child must have the ability to sit upright under his/her own power and weigh at least 16 pounds.
