Very comfortable and would be perfect for hikes when it’s warm. I normally wear a size 16, and the 16W fit great.
Finally, a well-built active trail pant/capri for larger women. Thanks Columbia! The fit is good without all the ballooning of extra fabric you sometimes see in plus-sized pants. The waist fits at the natural waist with belt loops. Two slanted side pockets and one zipper pocket on the leg are super functional. The flat back pockets are built into the design with smooth flaps that are hardly noticeable, but handy for holding a paper or ticket. The fabric feels cottony and will dry quickly. I got these to wear in the rain forest of Costa Rica and I think they will be lightweight yet tough, and block the sun. Note: the color "Gravel" is a dark, gray green.
I ordered these because I was looking for capris that were not so long they came to the middle of my calf -- I am 5'3" and these are a nice length. The fabric is wonderful. I ordered the grill color because I didn't want black and it is a nice dark grey. The fit is wonderful -- sometimes pants come up 3" above my waist and I have to roll them down -- as if I wanted extra bulk around the middle. These appear to be designed to sit below the waist -- for me that means they sit right at the waist. They are light weight and stretchy. I am very happy with this purchase and may even order another pair. My only complaint is the price -- which seems a little high.
I purchased two of these Capris (size 8) before Covid and loved them. I’ve lost weight since then (about 20lbs.) and wanted to figure out what size works for me now. I read the reviews and they said they run a little small so I went with the 6 even though size 4 matched my measurements in your sizing chart. I’m so glad I went with the 6. They fit and were actually slightly snug. I really love the zippered pocket to store my phone while hiking. They’re also very light weight and comfortable for summer. Very happy with the purchase. I wish your sizing was more consistent year to year though. For reference, I’m 5’4” 117 lbs.
I love these pants! I have 2 pairs that I bought about 6 years ago and 1 new pair. I would buy more, I just wish they offered more colors! My weight fluctuates and they look good any day. The fabric is hardy, water resistant and my older pants are still in good shape! They will pill eventually, but after 6 years you would expect that. I love the side zip pocket on the thigh- perfect for cash or credit cards. The fabric is cool in summer, however warm enough for fall. These are my favorite pant at Columbia. One day I was wearing all Columbia clothes from head to foot and my friend joked I am like a walking ad for Columbia. I guess they just make great clothes!
[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I was actually surprised that these fit in a size 16W as I'm especially curvy in the hip/bottom and expected to need a 1x or 18 so I'm gonna say these run a little large. That being said, they fit and feel SO GOOD! I was so pleased when I dripped a beverage on my pant leg and it just beaded up and rolled off. I have never once felt hot or sweaty wearing these and I love that feel like they are ready for any outdoor activity you want to get into (even cycling); they just keep moving right along with you! Wish I'd bought several pair when I found them at my local outlet store!!! One negative point is that my thigh rubbing has worn the fabric and created some pilling.
These fit nicely and are very comfortable. I'm glad they come in women's sizes because I've always had problems finding my size in Columbia clothing. The only thing I would change are the elastic loops on the leg adjustments. When you have them cinched in around the calf, the loops stick out and get caught on whatever is in the way. There's no where to tuck them or prevent them from sticking out.
I bought the women’s Saturday trail II pants in blue and stone. I got my usual Columbia pants size, 10 and they arrived shortly after in perfect condition with the usual Columbia quality built-in. I had a gray pair that I loved and have worn for four years and they’re still in pretty good shape but beginning to break down. I look forward to being able to wear these for another for five years. They have five pockets which are all fully functional but don’t look bulky. I use them for golf, hiking, and walking the dog. I thought the blue ones would be more of a navy but they appear to be more of a gray. I don’t mind but wish Columbia would make a these in navy or royal blue.
Columbia runs SMALL in the bottoms. I bought a 24W in this pant. I wear 22-24W in every other plus size outdoor bottoms I've tried. This fit so weird. Fine in the waist, but gave me a big wedgie. Good in the legs, but tight at the knee. Whatever company they have sew their plus size clothing has no idea about proportions for large women. However, I will give props to the material. It was thin and light-weight. The pants I ordered were gray and lighter than I expected. I was worried it would be unflattering on my thighs and that my underwear line would show horribly. But in fact, neither of those things happened. But that was the only saving grace. Returned them immediately.
I ordered bth the 18 and the 20 of this pant to see which fit better. I have found that columbia plus gear runs small. The 20 fit just fine. I am still waiting on the 18 to be shipped to me. I wish they would have an adjustable waist like the "Lucy Get Going" pant, but I love the knee length and cool, breezy fabric.
