Tropical weight sunblock shirt

I bought this shirt to wear to the So Cal deserts - mid 90's all day - and it performed beautifully. I was in the sun almost all day and not sunburn or even tanning under the shirt. It was lightweight and ventilated enough to be comfortable in the 90+ degree weather. The fabric was also very wrinkle resistant - it emerged from my carry-on looking wrinkle-free and is chic enough to wear into town for dinner after a long day hiking. The medium was a perfect fit for my 5'4" 130lb body - away from the body for ventilation but not sloppy. Perfect for travel/hiking/touring.

Fabric is pilling

I bought this shirt with very high expectations. I love Columbia. I deploy to areas where I need sun protection, breathability, packability, sturdiness, professional looking, and fast drying. This shirt on paper hit ever check mark. I have now worn it 4 times and there are snags and fabric pilling everywhere. I wash in cold and hang dry. I am unable to return this to the store due to where I currently am. I am planning on emailing customer service to see what we can do. I would love to think this is a one off thing, because l have had good luck with Columbia before.

Awesome shirt, but a little short

Backpacking the PCT and loving this shirt. It dries SO quickly it's insane and the sun protection has been great! The only issue I have is the shirt is a bit short. I have to wear high-waisted shorts with it otherwise I've got myself a belly shirt and a pack that's rubbing against my hips. I'm 5'6", 130 lbs, and don't have a long torso. Thinking of purchasing a mens shirt to solve the problem. Hope this is helpful!

Perfect for muscular arms!

I am in love with this shirt! I have worn this shirt hiking and at work in a lesson stable and it's been perfect for both. Great sun protection, lightweight, and ACTUALLY COOL. Being in the sun all day, every day, I've just about every type of sun shirt on the market and a lot of them make you sweat so bad you end up wishing for a tank top and just slathering on the sunscreen. But this one is actually cool and keeps me comfortable all day! Plus, the arms actually have room for some muscle! I struggle a lot with rolling up my sleeves on most shirts as my arms do have some muscle. Most cuffs end up cutting off my circulation, but not this one!

UV protection never looked so good!

My dermatologist just removed my first case of melanoma and I have been nerding-out on the Internet, researching quality sun protective clothing. I am thirty years old and I wanted something that I could pull on as a little sun jacket before I go on a walk or attend a farmer's market. I have long arms and I was not having any luck finding anything with long enough sleeves on shopping websites. I am 5'7" and 120 lbs. I purchased an XS even though I have broad shoulders and long arms. It fits great! I love the vents on the shoulder blades. And the desaturated blue color pairs well with my other clothing items.

The perfect outdoor shirt

The shirt is comfortable, light and breathable enough to complete long hikes/ backpack trips in. I love how the sleeves roll up and how quickly the sweat dries from the shirt. I am 5’6, 145 pounds and have a 36” bust. I purchased a M and it fits great. It’s more of a relaxed fit than fitted but I have found that to be very helpful when I have a pack on.

Great for skin protection!

I purchased this shirt for an 8-day river rafting trip down the Grand Canyon. Temperatures were in the 110-115 range and we were in the sun all day, every day. I had a skin cancer removed last fall and needed to make sure I didn't burn, and this shirt did not let me down! Additionally, it is made of very light, breathable fabric that made it very comfortable to paddle in.

Sleeves Very Snug when rolled up

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] If you keep the sleeves down, the shirt is a great fit, but if you roll the sleeves up, they button above the elbow and it makes the sleeve TOO tight, and I am not a muscular person. This is a great shirt, I love it, I am just not happy with the tight rolled up sleeve fit. Maybe if you make the button tab that secures the sleeve up a little longer, it will bring the sleeve below the elbow. Why have a looser fit at the waist and a tight fit above the elbow? I would only recommend this product if you do not plan to roll up your sleeves... outside of the sleeve not relaxed enough to roll up, it's a great fit!
