Rated 1 out of 5 by from Won't turn on without power source connected Worked fine the first day, then wouldn't turn on the second day. After some troubleshooting I discovered that even after fully charging the battery and unplugging the unit, holding the power button did nothing but flash a white light for a second. If I plugged it back in I could power it on, then unplug it and it would stay on. So it seems the battery can keep it running, but can't turn it on. I've only used it for an hour or two at a time then returned it to the charger, so I don't know how long it will run for. The enclosed booklet instructs the user to "Charge the product at least once every three months, to prevent the batteries from drying out." Not sure whether this is what happened or I just got a defective unit, but I bought this on clearance so I'd imagine it was on the shelf for a while.

Rated 3 out of 5 by from Love everything but the annoying voice feature. This is a great speaker overall. I really like the strap to attach to my handlebars and the 1/4 camera mount is a nice touch. However, I absolutely hate the voice feature. Whenever you turn it on, off, pair, connect, etc there is a cheesy voice that sounds like a combination of a lounge singer and wizard. I have called the company and it cannot turn be turned off. This is a deal-breaker for me.

Rated 2 out of 5 by from Upgraded and disappointed my buckshot 1 finally bit the dust, i had it on my handlebars for thousands of miles in the rain, cold, mud, i took it on tour where it got stepped on, spilled on, crunched, dropped, left on a hot engine. Finally something with the battery went wrong, it could not turn all the way off and would emit a quiet high pitch whine eternally. So I exchanged it for thie 2.0 version. Im biased, as soon as I saw it had a clip on the outside I knew it was not going to work well enough for me. the perfectly round shape of the previous version made it brainless to use and attach to anything. the buttons on the back were perfect too, they could not get accidentally pressed and were definite as to where they are. I could do any control on it blindly. Enter the 2.0. the buttons are on the sides, while it uses a tension band to strap it to its mounting object. leading these to get covered up and pressed by its own mounting band. what were they thinking? I was going to set it on my shelf and look at it?? this was the hands down most effortless and perfect product for the bicycle commuter. no brackets to fuss with when you're running late. Another thing, now the strap is tougher and does not stretch/grab/stick/pull as well and it gradually flops down. But hey they made the strap black not red which was totally killing my murdered out look on my matte black platidipped cannondale. /s. i'm really really bummed by the changes. So I go to use it, thinking maybe oh maybe there's some redeeming qualities, as the form factor is a HUGE deal for this product, even rivaling its discrete functions, and first day out of the box on my bike, the strap held down some buttons (...yeah) while it was connecting to my phone (after being already paired) and now it is in some sort of panic mode, flashing red and blue. its been doing this for 2 days. Not to mention the sound quality is both lower and worse than the last version. Literally, WHAT did they upgrade?? The bluetooth range?? because the 10 inches between my backpack/pocket REALLY NEEDS THAT SIGNAL BOOST. I never leave reviews because I think they're a waste of time but this has left me seriously raging since I opened the box - and it was such a source of joy before. I dont know what happened. I'm kind of speechless, to be frank.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from So far works dope Only had it for 2 weeks but has already been through a few paddle board sessions. Seems to hold up to sand and sea water. Amazing sound and volume considering how tiny it is. Seems like a pretty good deal for the price.

Rated 3 out of 5 by from light and loud enough For the price it does the job very well. Loud enough for action sports and camping. There isn't much low end to it, so there's a lot of treble. Very durable, so it looks like it can take a beating.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Grab and go Good sound in a small package. That wireless range from bluetooth device to speaker is more then sufficient. Very pleased with this purchase compared to others I have used.

Rated 1 out of 5 by from Not Pleased I was really excited for the price and weight, but I've used the speaker once in Supai and it already blew. Back to REI it goes!

Asked by: bowmasterx
These speakers do not have linking functionality. Here is a waterproof, cost effective option that has wireless daisy chaining: https://www.rei.com/product/111375/outdoor-tech-turtle-shell-30

Does this have a stereo/aux input, to plug in other devices that may not have bluetooth?

Asked by: JDMPLS
The Outdoor Tech Buckshot 2.0 Speaker does not have a physical auxiliary input. It connects to devices only through Bluetooth.
