Many sleeping bags are rated for temperature by an independent testing protocol, the European Norm (EN) 13537. Each bag gets two ratings: a Comfort rating and Lower limit rating. The Comfort rating is the lowest temperature at which the bag will keep the average woman (or "cold sleeper") comfortable, and the Lower Limit rating is the lowest temperature at which the bag will keep an average man (or “warm sleeper”) comfortable. Everyone's body and sleep comfort is different, so EN Ratings are merely a guideline to help you compare products.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Love this bag! I searched forever to find a great durable bag for Spring/Summer camping. I am a cold sleeper so I probably could have went with a lighter bag. I tried this and the Kelty bag which is down. I went with this bag I loved the colors better and this one was perfect for me at 5'2" and 115 it fit great, the Kelty and Marmmot bags I looked at were just a hair to wide. We tried out the bag in our backyard in April for a mini camp out when the temp dropped to about 35 overnight and this bag was awesome and I slept like a rock.

I just purchased the trail pod 29 as well as this bag because Q & As on the trail pod said that these two bags zipped together? They just arrived and I don't believe that is the case?

Asked by: Clearman91
We have confirmed the Trail Pod 29 and the Lyra 24 cannot be zipped together. Thank you for bringing this to our attention. We will update the information on as soon as possible.

The specs put the EN lower limit as 12F and the comfort limit at 24F. Is this bag warmer than the Lumen, or is this a mixup?

Asked by: applejackie
The ratings are correct. For an "average" women, the Lyra would be 7° F warmer than the Lumen. The 24 in the title is for a women's bag, the 20 for the Lumen is for a man's bag.
