Lightweight But Warm
This coat is quite lightweight, but keeps my husband warm. It's roomy enough but close-fitting for a flattering fit. Can layer up with fleece for these extremely cold days. Very happy with the choice.
Great for climbing, snowboarding, living
Love it! I've worn it climbing, snowboarding, work, school, etc. Some of the features I appreciate: drawcord at the waist, forearms roomy enough for athletic climber physiques, breathability, pocket configuration, packs into one of the chest pockets, hood that fits under a helmet, soft feel, sleeves long enough that my arms stay covered when I reach overhead. If it's too windy it's good to pack a light shell. Miner wishes: I would love thumb holes in the sleeves, a little more room in the shoulders if the main zipper was two-way and if it could pack into the chest pocket a little easier.
Superb Multi-Use Jacket
Couldn't be more pleased with this versatile jacket. Lighweight, warm and comfortable, this unit checks off some important boxes. Built for motion, the generous shoulders and sleeves allows the jacket to stay in place while active. It's breathability is exceptional, controlling overheating during strenuous exertion. When weather has gotten spicy it has made for an excellent layer under a shell. The hood slips easily on and off regardless of headwear. Excellent zippered outer pockets, two big handwarmers and two breast pockets. The left breast pocket is larger than the right (for some reason) but both are ample. Worn as a casual piece for chilly evenings out or as a performance piece while working or playing in the cold, this jacket does it all. Highly recommended.
Best all around low loft jacket
This is the best low loft jacket that I have ever owned! It dumps heat to reduce the swamp factor of perspiring while you are active and is a great thermal layer when at rest. I have three of these jackets and wear them religiously! Highly recommend if you are the active outdoors type! Fit is athletic and true to size.
This is the best jacket I have ever owned
At the time of writing this, there is only one review and I am blown away. I've had The Nano-Air Hoodie for about three years now and it has practically become my second skin. BEWARE though, I would only suggest this to someone who has specific use cases for it that involve physical activity. The is a very lightly insulated jacket that breathes exceptionally well when you are exerting yourself. It is best used as a mid-layer under something like an uninsulated Gore-Tex jacket, or by itself when the whether permits. For me, the comfortable range of temperatures is somewhere around 35f-65f when wearing this jacket (really depends on my acclimatization), and significantly lower when paired with an out layer and a base layer. If you haven't caught on to what I'm saying, this thing is the perfect midlayer. It holds heat and releases moisture very well, and if it does get wet it dries quickly. The jacket itself has DWR but don't expect it to really protect you from precipitation. As far as fit and finish goes, it is a trimmer fit since it is intended for activity and being worn under an outerlayer. The fabric shell itself has the perfect amount of stretch in all directions, I've used it rock climbing, cycling, and hiking/backpacking to great success. The hood is absolutely great, but you will want to pay attention to how its designed, it works best with an outerlayer that is also a storm hood design. If you have a jacket like that this thing is going to mesh greatly. On me, the hood of this jacket is however not large enough to cover a helmet, potentially if you have the right shoulder, neck, and head size it might work, but I cannot verify. The hood itself has a fairly form fitting shape on my head, and the opening for the face has a light elastic band around it, but no cinches to pull it tighter. There are 3 pockets, two on the outside for hands that are positioned smartly out of the way for harnesses, and one exterior breast pocket which the entire thing can compress into for stowing nicely away in a pack. The cuffs are also trimmed to be slightly looser around the wrist, but somehow also tight enough to always be in the right spot. A nice detail about the cuffs, on the underside there is an area where insulation has been cutout. This is so you can do things, like filter water when backpacking, and not have to worry as much about wet sleeves, the lack of insulation in the area means it will dry much faster. The waist of the jacket has the same elastic touch as the hood opening, and also has no additional cinches. After three years of owning this jacket, I can honestly say I only want more and in more colors. I absolutely love it and I love telling people how much I love it. But what are the cons? An unfortunate side affect of lightweight breathable equipment is that the materials can be thin and easy to damage. Over time the fabric has pilled in high rub areas, such as wear a harness contacts, but this has only been cosmetic, not performance change. I would highly suggest NOT WEARING THIS JACKET NEAR A CAMPFIRE FOR ANY REASON. Even the smallest ember floating peacefully in the air will singe right through the shell (I might know this because I've made this mistake). Regardless, my jacket now has some fancy Tenacious Tape spicing up its appearance and its still my favorite piece of clothing. In conclusion, all I have to say is: Go buy this jacket, it is great, and I do not want Patagonia to stop making it so I can wear one my entire life. I hope this helps! If you want some good comparisons: TNF Casaval Arctyr'x Proton and Atom lines The main difference between Patagonia's, TNF, and Arctyr'x jackets are going to be the weight they are offered in. All of them are great.
Great jacket, one exception
I’ve been a fan of the Nano Air for a long time. I just received this jacket and am very excited to test it out. The color is fantastic and as far as quality goes, it’s exactly what you’d expect from Patagonia. My only gripe is that there isn’t enough elastic around the cuffs. I have the Casaval Hoodie from North Face and that jacket does it right. Hopefully they fix this next season.
Arcteryx Atom Killer?
Bottom line, buy this jacket if you’re looking for something just as good as an Arcteryx Atom, but maybe don’t want Arcteryx. But, in my opinion I think the Atom is prob one of the best jackets out there. So I was looking for a jacket to replace an Arcteryx Atom jacket I got back in like 2013. In a similar vein I also bought the REI Flash Insulated hoodie. My overall thoughts is that this jacket is better than the Flash, but not quite as good as the Atom. The Flash doesn’t seem to breathe quite as well as the Atom. All three keep me warm enough, but I’ve found myself overheating in the both the Flash and the Nano Air. As far as quality/feel, the Nano Air is so comfy. Probably the comfiest of the three. In comparing the build quality/aesthetics I would say it’s about on par with my Atom jacket. However, as I’ve been shopping around and trying on Atoms I feel like the quality of Arcteryx has dropped. The newer materials feel cheaper than the one I bought way back in the day. As far as fit goes, I feel like with most Patagonia products, they run small. I usually buy small size but went with a medium.
Great all around light jacket.
I upgraded from a previous version and I am really happy with my purchase. I prefer the quilted look as opposed to puffer jackets. It is light and blocks the wind well. Keeps me warm and dry when I'm out shoveling snow.

Sleeves are ridiculous
Nice fabric but the fit is way off. I'm 6'1", 195lb and usually wear a Large, but the sleeves cover half my hands and the cuffs/sleeve width is absolutely enormous. You could fit two of my arms in this thing. No point in trying a Medium because the chest is too small. Guess I'll have to find a different product.
