Rated 5 out of 5 by from great pole lives up to it's name it is a classic. they have a nice weight, seem very durable and they have comfortable grips. baskets seem to work well in both in powder and hard pack. plus i love the fact that you can replace straps and tips if you need to.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Great Poles I'm glad I paid a bit more for these aluminum poles. Getting the correct size helped, but the grips are so much nicer than the cheap plastic on my cheap poles. It takes almost no effort to grip without your hand sliding. And according to the site I can replace the grips and straps (with the fancier wide strap) in the future.

Rated 1 out of 5 by from Two frustrating issues I never return things after I use them, but I made an exception with these. The first problem that I noticed almost immediately is that the straps loosen with use. I had to adjust them about every half hour of skiing. Then next issue (that another reviewer noted) is that the baskets fall off very easily. I quickly lost one. Thankfully Rei has a great return policy.

Rated 3 out of 5 by from plastic basket issue Nice poles, but the 'snap fit' of the plastic baskets is weak....I've had baskets come loose and fall off the pole ends - a better fastening method would be screw-on instead of the 'clip/snap' plastic fitment.

Rated 3 out of 5 by from Arrived without baskets Listing states baskets are included, but they were not in the box. I'm sure REI will find me some, but disappointing. Otherwise good quality.

Did I understand correctly that one can replace the tips? One of hte paths that I ski on has bridges and invariably I have had the tips get jammed in between the wood slats and break off (regardless of how careful I try to be). This owuld e a big plus

Asked by: Old Skier
Yes, the tips on these poles can be replaced. Extra tips can be purchased through Swix directly.
