Sizing notes

Palm girth: Measure around your dominant hand at the knuckles with your fingers together.
Palm length: Measure from the crease at the base of your wrist (on palm side) to the tip of your middle finger.
Determine your size from the various Black Diamond sizing charts by choosing the larger of the two measurement results.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from great for around town Got these for my daughter's drive to school and trips around town. Plenty warm for her as she does not do any outdoor activities in winter. The gloves have decent thickness and great stretchiness. But the acid test for my daughter was the touch screen feature. And it works perfectly so far. Got the medium for her. He hand size is 7" tip to wrist and 7.5" around the knuckles.

Rated 2 out of 5 by from Nice gloves but not well made I bought these gloves in the Seattle store and wore them once and a seam on the right hand blew out within the 1st 30 minutes of use. I took them back and customer service offered to order a replacement pair online. They arrived today and unfortunately there is a visible gap in the stitching where the goatskin leather pad is joined at the thumb. Too bad because the gloves performed well but they would not last two trips. At $40 a pair the stitching needs to be better. I'm returning these and will move on to something else.

Rated 3 out of 5 by from Adequate Base Glove I am always in the market for base layer gloves for mountaineering. From my experience there is always some fatal flaw with these designs. Either they have poor grip for an ice axe, they fall apart during the first trip, or they aren't warm enough. These gloves fall into the later category. The palm grip on these is pretty good but would have liked a little more grip on the fingers. They are solidly built and I expect them to last for a few trips. However, even on a rather warm day (low 30s F) my fingers were having issues staying warm. This was mostly when the wind was blowing (15 to 30 mph) and not due to the gloves being wet. Overall, I'm happy that I won't need to buy another pair after my first trip but am still in the market for a better base layer glove for mountaineering. I would say these are better suited for everyday use than anything technical.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from versatile Was expecting them to be warmer, but they did fine. Grateful that I could still use the touchscreen of my phone without having to take them off every time and freezing my fingers in the cold NYC air - DEFINITE plus!

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Great gloves Picked these up as the temps started dropping and am glad I did. They are comfy and add a nice insulting layer that can fit under heavier mitts. The fabric allows you to use your phone without taking your gloves off. I didn't buy them for this feature but it's a very handy one.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Warm and well fitting I've been wearing these while biking in ~35-50 F weather and they've been great so far. They really stop the wind from cutting up my fingers and are thin enough that I can shift, brake, and do whatever I need to with no trouble.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Warm and Screen Friendly I bought these gloves for my son and he loves them! He lives in New York City and can keep his hands warm and text at the same time. Sleek look makes them fit into the city life well yet are very serviceable.

Questions & Answers

What are the care instructions? Are these machine-washable?

Asked by: Inquirer
Black Diamond does not recommend machine washing their leather gloves. They recommend spot cleaning with lukewarm water and air drying.
