Measurements are stated in inches unless otherwise indicated. Size chart values represent body measurements, not garment measurements.
SHORT: Some pants are available in short sizes, which generally means an inseam that is 2.5 inches shorter than regular sizes.
TALL: Some pants, shirts, jackets and parkas are available in tall sizes, which generally means an inseam that is 3 inches longer and a rise that is 1 inch longer, a shirt or jacket body that is 2 inches longer, a parka body that is 2.5 inches longer and sleeves that are 2.5 inches longer than regular sizes.
Capri or cropped pants have an intentionally shorter inseam—reference the technical specs instead of this chart.
Inseam is measured to the floor.

Took this on a 3 day hike in the Rockies, temps in the teens and no issues from this jacket. Packs well into its own pocket. I now use this as my day to day jacket when temps get in the 40s/30s and below...
This new version of the 650 is $30 more expensive than the outgoing model. Incredibly, it does not pack into its pocket for backpacking/travel! I haven’t worn it more than an hour and already a pocket zipper broke. This will be be returned. I buy a lot of REI branded items and the quality, design decisions, and price of this jacket will make me question the choice in the future.
Hey Jim Hamel, the drawstring is in the center of the outside on the back of the hood
I ordered this by mail so was not able to try it on before purchase. It arrived, I opened the box, and said "What a BEAUTIFUL coat!" A beautiful orange color, very puffy, and very comfortable to put on. And then, I realized there is NO cord or elastic to adjust (draw in) the hood. The hood just flops loosely and there is nothing you can do about it. If you look at the pictures in the listing, the model has a HUGE head of hair so of course the hood looks like it fits snugly. But if you are like me without much hair, the hood is going to flop around and if you face into the wind it will be like wearing a sail. Once I realized the hood couldn't be adjusted, I immediately packed up the box and returned it to the store. REI, PLEASE add an elastic cord and cordlocks to adjust the hood. If you fix that one problem, I would love to buy this hoodie again.
for value this jacket knocks it out of the park! it is very warm (remember 650 can be warmer than 800 if u have more fill), sturdy and fits like a glove. I'm not sure why it has gotten some low reviews but from perspective for the price this is a bargain and compared to other name brands this is a winner for casual wear etc..
This coat is very good. Hood fits fine with a ball cap and zipped all the way up. There is a draw string around the bottom so you can keep the wind out. I bought one size up so I could wear a sweater underneath. The orange is very attractive. Easy to spot in a pile of jackets.
Seems like good quality. I bought one size up so I could wear a sweater underneath. There is a draw string at bottom to provide a snug fit. Hood fits fine with ball cape and coat zipped all the way up.
Extremely happy on the fit and craftsmanship of this jacket. Super lightweight and warm. Definitely a big bang for my bucks with this purchased!
650 Down Hoodie seems nice but, for $149, should include bag, but doesn't!
Warm light jacket. You are not gonna want to be going to the North Pole with this (unless it's a base layer), but it works just fine for me down to 20 degrees f or so. I wear a wool long sleeved shirt under it - 400g, 250g, midweight, kinda lite ... what ever seems appropriate for the weather. I use it for around town and it's great. If I was gonna be spending a lot of time outdoors, I'd probably wear a more robust puffy down coat instead, but it's great within its limits. Some complain about the hood not having drawstring and that can be an issue. I'm good with a heavy stocking cap, but it's kinda floppy if you have nothing under it. With some sort of head gear and zipped all the way up it works fine. My only complaint and it's not really about the quality - I don't really like the Oak Brown color. My wife likes it, so meh.
