Rated 2 out of 5 by from No instructions provided for New season bladder Hey Osprey - new bladder style - how about instructions - or a video. The top grey piece of plastic slides off (like on a paper presentation folder). Then unfold the piece of clear plastic - easy Now the piece that you may not be confident about - 1 inch below the top of the unfolded plastic is a second strip of plastic - pull this away from the taller piece of plastic to make the opening. This is not obvious because it is so sticky that you feel like you may be unglueing something. I am sure that it will be a great bladder - however the pack I bought it with, the Rev 1.5, is actually designed for the old style bladder making the design of the pack to accommodate the old style bladder now somewhat redundant.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Include a Bite Valve Cover This is my first Hydration Bladder. I bought (2) 1.5L from Osprey because of the quality and reputation of the company. I have used them once on a weekend backpack trip. So far, I have no complaints about the Bladder itself. My only complaint is the Bladder did not include a Bite Valve Cover. I have to pay extra for something I think should be a standard part of the Bladder. The uncovered Bite Valve can get pretty dirty during the course of a trip. Come on Osprey. $6 for a cover?? Only 4 Stars since it didn't include cover.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Sturdy, strong, easy to use This unit is compatible with my Osprey Tempest 20 daysack. I'm pleased to say that it is working very well. My previous attempts at using other, less expensive brands were dismal. This unit is made of rugged plastic. The slide top makes for easy filling. The internal baffle really helps to make loading of the filled bag into the daysack much easier. My only surprise was that when the water gets down to the last 1/2 liter, I can hear the water sloshing around. But then too, it's an audible warning system that I need to get water or quickly start rationing!

Rated 3 out of 5 by from Changed too much I have a 2 liter Osprey reservoir that I got 2 years ago and I like it a lot better than this one (which I got for my dad). The old one has a rigid plastic/vinyl back that gives it structure and protects the reservoir. This one does not. I assume they did that to lighten it up, but with heavy use in and out of a pack, I don't think it will last very long. On the positive side, the hose disconnect feature is nice, and the fold/slide mechanism does make cleaning and drying easier. I wish they had the old model with these two features.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Solidly built Not that difficult to figure out how to use, but it's the same quality material that Osprey has always used. Except in a slimmer and lighter profile. Now there's literally zero competition between a waterbladder and a nalgene for me.

Rated 1 out of 5 by from Leaked!!! Have the older version 2.5L, love it and have never had a problem. Thought I'd get this great new lightweight 1.5L for my daypack. Leaked right away. Seems to be coming from under the red flap/hood. Sending it back and hoping to find a different 1.5L.

Rated 2 out of 5 by from There are better bladders out there This new bladder from Osprey is not all what it's cracked up to be. It is very difficult to clean and dry due to the two baffles that are molded into the bladder and the fact that the molded output keeps folding onto the bladder. You also cannot purchase the replacement bite valves yet, so if you happen to damage yours......good luck. I much prefer the SOURCE line of water bladders for ease of use and cleaning.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Quick and Easy As a long-time water bottle user, I was skeptical a bladder would be better in keeping me hydrated. I was wrong and this model worked great! The hose disconnect allows refilling without struggling with replacement through the pack port, and top opening facilitates refilling and adding ice cubes.
