Polartec Wind Pro Cycling Clothing

Features to look for in bike clothing

• Moisture wicking fabrics keep you comfortable by pulling sweat away from your skin
• Sun-protective fabric: protects against harmful exposure to UV rays; a higher rating offers better the sun protection
• Waterproof bike clothes help you stay dry in rain or other bad conditions
• Insulated clothes trap warmth without bulk, perfect for early mornings or colder seasons
• Reflective elements help you be seen by motorists

Bike shorts

• Do you want form-fitting or looser styles?
• Do you need padding (chamois) to add comfort in the saddle? If so, choose between standard chamois (thicker and less expensive) or gel chamois (thinner, firmer and a bit pricier)

Bike jersey or shirt

• Consider sleeve length or a partial or full zip
• Many shirts transition well to other casual activities

Types of Shoes

• Mountain bike: added traction for rugged trails; options for clipless or flat pedals

• Road cycling: stiffest soles for efficient pedaling; cleats connect to clipless pedals for maximum pedaling efficiency.

• City biking: comfortable, everyday; good for recreational riding or commuting

Find the Right Fit

• Choose shoes that feel comfortable from the start.

• Make sure your toes have enough room to wiggle slightly.

• Your arches should feel snug and supported; your heel should stay in place.

Shoe Closure

• Lace-up: most customizable fit, can get wet or dirty in bad weather

• Strap: quick to adjust and more likely to stay secure

• Dial lace: delivers an adjustable fit with a quick-release cable system

• Single-pull lace: easy on and off with a single lace toggle
