Rated 5 out of 5 by from Luxury pad for the weight! I used this pad on my PCT thru hike and I loved it!! I am 5'2 so this pad was very spacious with about a foot of extra leg space. I could've made due with a 3/4 length pad but having this pad was a luxury. It weighs about the same as the z-lite foam pad with about double the comfort! Completely worth it and just as comfortable as the therm-a-rest that I used on the AT two years ago. Toward the end of my hike, I did get a microtear which was likely due to me being less careful of where I put it at night. Either way, I was able to patch it up and continue using it for the rest of the hike. Was very impressed with how this pad performed!

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Comfortable I tried multiple pads in the store before selecting this one. I like to change position as I sleep and this pad was clearly the winner for me. I was a bit weary of the lack of any self inflation system but the low overall weight of this product helped me decide that I wouldn't mind blowing it up knowing I enjoyed its light weight and compact qualities on the trail. Easily deflates. Slept well on my first trip after purchasing it. Only down side was a friend in a tent next to mine who is very sensitive to sounds at night said my sleeping pad made a lot of noise whenever I moved. So other than disturbing light sleepers this is a superb pad.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from tiny but loud I can't make up my mind about this pad. Pros: It packs down to a tiny size, and is super lightweight It was warm enough in low 40s It's great for side sleepers and very comfortable. My hips never touched the ground, and it felt close to the comfort of an actual bed Cons: It's loud and crinkly with any slight motion It's not great for sitting; unless you're correctly balanced, the air moves around and some of you will touch the ground. To me, it feels less stable than the foam core pads Not self-inflating If you sleep in one position all night, this will be great. If you move around, its probably too loud and unstable feeling

Rated 4 out of 5 by from So far great! I have tried and returned many pads. This one has impressed me so far. It provides plenty of comfort for a side sleeper. It is very wide and long enough for me to have tons of room. It does take quite a few extra breaths to get this thing inflated, but its worth the work when you get the 3 inch loft. The noise level on this unit is minimal compared to others that i have tried from thermarest. The unit weighs just over a pound and has a nice velco band and stuff sack. I've only used this in the summer months so not sure about insulation factor. Very happy with the pad, can't wait to use it more this fall.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Best for side sleepers out there. I purchased this Nemo Tensor to use for seasons other than winter. Tried it at camp out, it was a great pad - indeed! With its 3 inch thickness, side sleeper like me will have a good night sleep just like in your own home bed. Very small and super light at 13.5 oz you can bring it anywhere. Can't wait to start backpacking again with this great pad, I'm glad I bought it.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from So far, so good I'm a side sleeper that can't use the self inflating mats to sleep. I originally had a Big Agnes insulated air core, but I had to return that twice due to some air leaking through the material (I.e. not through an actual hole). I decided to grab this mat instead and I'm glad I did. It packs much smaller and is noticeably lighter. It isn't rated for the same low temperatures as my other mat, but that's fine since most of my camping is in Texas. This mat is super comfortable, each to inflate, and has a big release valve for deflating. That's surprisingly helpful relative to squeezing the air out through the regular blow valve. All things considered, I dig this thing. If you don't need a true cold weather mat, you won't go wrong with this one.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Comfortable and incredibly compact Pros: - Significantly smaller pack size than any other pad with similar Thermal Rating - Durable (I've used it 30+ times with no punctures) - Comes with patch kit just in case - Quick deflating release valve for packing up Cons: - No pump, all lungs! Only takes 25 breathes, I find it well worth the increase packability. - Sometimes can be tough to sleep on my side (though I never hit the ground) - No built in pillow (again in return for amazing packability)

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Good for what it's meant to be Pros: Extremely light, even more compact. Patch kit looks very good. Usual Nemo quality Cons: I usually prefer my air mattress lightly inflated (just enough air to keep my hip off the ground - I'm a side sleeper), and this resulted in a cold spot for me on a night that reached the low 40's. Using the mat into the 30's would be pushing it, in my opinion. I'm normally a warm sleeper. The very thin fabric is also translucent on one side. This lets you see exactly how much water you blow into one of these when inflating by mouth. The good news is that the large dump valve allows you to take a hair dryer (on the low setting) and blow warm air into it the mattress when you get home to evacuate moisture which has built up. This prevents the mattress from turning into a petri dish. I hope to find out if a thermorest pump sack will work for blowing this up in the mean time. Overall, it's almost as comfortable as my Nemo Cosmo pad while being almost half the weight and probably a third the packed bulk.

Is there a pump you can use with the Nemo Tensor Air sleeping pad?

Asked by: C411
The Therm-a-Rest Neo Air Mini pump or the Big Agnes Pumphouse Dry Sack are both compatible with this pad. https://www.rei.com/product/896046/therm-a-rest-neoair-mini-pump https://www.rei.com/product/846714/big-agnes-pumphouse-pad-pump-dry-sack

I'm 5'11. Should I purchase a regular or long pad?

Asked by: caitquinn
I'm 5'10" and have the regular. It works, but there isn't much extra space to move around. If you're a heavy sleeper that doesn't move around much the regular should work fine, but you move around in your sleep you might want to get the long. It's wider too. Overall I'm really happy with mine, but I do sometimes find myself wishing I had gotten the bigger size.
