not only for kids
Old sleeping pad was worn out and didn't stay inflated so needed a quick replacement. Being 5'7" either my head or my feet would over hang the pad. Great material and easy to handle compact and very portable. Takes maybe 2-3 minutes to fully inflate.

Poor Valve Design
For something designed for kids, the valve design is very poor. Rather difficult even for an adult and nearly impossible for an 8 year old to close the valve without losing all the air. It is almost like a child-proof medicine bottle lid - push down and twist.

Perfect for Small Children

We purchased these for our two children (5 & 6) to use and they were great! Plenty of space for them without taking up space they don't need in the tent. They will probably grow out of them in a few years and we will invest in nicer pads, but for now they were the perfect price for what a young child needs. Overall the pad is a bit thin for my tastes, but it's not meant for an adult to sleep on. They both slept directly on the pad (because it was quite warm) and even without the extra padding of a sleeping bag my kids both commented that they were very comfortable.

Good for Money Value

This product is not only for kids, but the only problem I have is that weight to warmth value is not the greatest. It has a low R-value for being an air pad. I have used this sleeping pad on 4 backpacking trips so far. I like that it takes up less space than the average sleeping pad and once you figure out how to use the valve, it works great! In the future, I would not repurchase this item, I would probably invest in a sleeping pad with a greater R-value. This product is great for warmer weather camping and it is more comfortable than the average sleeping pad!

Something is better than nothing

I've come into terms that I will enjoy myself much more after a well rested night's rest in the wilderness. My friend and I each picked up one recently for our week long Spring BWCA trip. It was nice to not have to worry about sleeping on top of exposed tree roots or rocks that we couldn't clear before laying down the tent. Although this pad is at minimal thickness, it was enough to do the job at a great price and only took 8-9 full lung-full of air to fill. I'm not the tallest of person but what really matters is having support for your upper body when resting, and this does so on a budget. It was also nice being off the cold ground and should your tent get pooled with water, the pad will keep you off the water. We also used used it as a wind barrier when cooking during a windy afternoon and also for sunbathing. I wouldn't camp without having a sleeping pad again!

Great size and support!

Just bought this for my 3 1/2 year old for a camping trip in Olympic Nat'l Park. It is the perfect size, packs up small enough to fit into her REI Tarn 18 backpack and it is warm and supportive. Highly recommend!

Great Sleeping Mat

My wife and I purchased this sleeping pad for our daughter during our camping trips. We've used it on two occasions now for a total of about a dozen nights and it's worked out perfectly, our daughter loves it! I would definitely recommend this sleeping pad.

Kids will zonk

Both our boys (6 &8) slept great on their first packing trip. Great memories. They should last until the kiddos are 10 and 12. Great addition to their packs, especially if you want them to get a good nights rest for the next days activities

Tricky valve

We found it hard to effectively close the valve. Once we managed that it served the little guy well.

Self-Inflates... with a little encouragement.

The pad inflated most of the way on its own, but still required some air to be at full puffiness.

just ok

easy to inflate/deflate/pack, but be warned this is a very small pad. it is especially very narrow, so unless your child is very petite, this will be way too small.
