Rated 4 out of 5 by from Well rounded bike shoes I originally intended to get a more road bike style pair of shoes, but after comparing several, I decided I liked the idea of the recessed clips, and not having to walk like a duck if i had to get off my bike mid-ride. The sinch mechanism is ok, and why I gave them a 4. Its a little hard to get tight quickly, and you have to tuck/wrap the drawstring through a hoop to make sure it isnt going to catch in the gears. Not a big deal, its got a hoop an clip built in to do this, but not as simple as some other laces.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from 1st pair of mtb shoes Being my first pair of shoes, these are perfect for me. They're stiff enough to get a good ride in, and flexible enough to make for a decent pair of walking shoes. With good ventilation throughout, they make for a decent shoe in the water as well. The only problem is the laces...they stretch some and I have to tighten them up just a bit more each time I ride.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Awesome as touring bike shoes I did Cycle Montana with Adventure Cycle Association (an awesome ride, btw), and at the last moment, stopped into the Missoula REI and picked these up along with light weight mountain bike pedals. Boy am I glad I did. These are my absolute favorite as touring bike shoes. I fell in love with them immediately. The are super-comfortable, cool, and seem to be durable, though time will tell on that. I can't answer how well these function for actual mountain biking as I did not buy them for that purpose.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Great warm-weather shoe These were suggested by a very helpful in-store rep. I purchased these shoes for RAGBRAI, where there is a bit of walking to go with the riding, and they were fantastic. Comfortable enough that they've become my day-to-day bike commute shoes. They run small, so you may wish to size up.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Cycling Shoes Though the description states that these are mountain bike shoes, I use them for road biking. Fits well, lots of mesh to keep my feet cool.

Can I use these shoes with Crank Brothers eggbeaters? If so, do I need to purchase additional parts?

Asked by: ColemanCLC
Yes, they'll work with Crank Bros. Egg Beaters. Your pedals should have come with cleats that you'll screw into the bottom of the shoes, they will work in these shoes without the purchase of any additional parts. Ride on.

Are the laces replaceable? And can they be shortened?

We sell similar laces to the style that comes with these shoes, however, we cannot recommend shortening them as they may effect performance. https://www.rei.com/c/shoe-laces

Does anyone know what size the spd cleat bolt needs to be? I bought a set of cleats and the standard bolt size seems to be too short.

Asked by: theboy
We are unaware of varying bolt lengths for 2 bolt cleats. If you believe the bolts are not long enough, please bring your shoes and cleats into your nearest bike shop and ask for some assistance with assembly.
