My six year old has aspbergers and an anxiety disorder so getting him to ride a bike independently has been a challenge. Regular bike trailers were fine but we didn't like that he wasn't actively participating and when we tried the ride along style bike he was constantly worried about cars and that he would fall. Enter the weehoo. This thing is amazing. The pedals allow him to actively ride but the seat and harness combat any of his fears about falling. He's so comfortable he doesn't even worry about any cars that pass us, a major anxiety maker for him. Thank you weehoo for making such an awesome product, it's been a life changer.

Not as good as it should be

We've been using the Weehoo Igo with our daughter for almost two years (we got it when she was two, she's three and a half now, she's been riding pedal bikes without training wheels for over six months now). It's a mixed blessing. It's our go-to trailer for riding around town and we hope to do some touring on it soon. We like it despite the drawbacks. Some of these I list might be considered nit-picks, but as nice as the trailer is it definitely has room for improvement. The good: We really like the harness system and the fact that our daughter is more involved in riding. She definitely prefers the Weehoo over her Burley, and to a certain extent so do I. The bad: -The quality is a bit lacking for the price. There have been some changes made between this version and earlier versions, and it looks to me like most of the changes were to make it easier to manufacture, not necessarily making it better for the end user (the square tube is better for mounting the seat than the older round tube). -The rear wheel is secured to the frame on one side of the axle only. Not really a big deal, except the wheel is a standard bicycle wheel and isn't designed to be mounted this way. The older style that this model replaces had two dropouts to hold the rear wheel. -Changing a flat tire is a real pain due to a combination of the way that the rack installs and the single side axle mount for the rear wheel. I'd recommend getting a high quality flat resistant tire before you even put the trailer together. -The rear rack is designed in such a way so that you can only really use their saddlebags due to the way that it slopes. The saddlebag material is fairly cheap and definitely not water resistant. It is possible to get a different rack through Weehoo that can accept regular saddlebags. -You are limited in rear tire size by the rack. For a trailer that doesn't have suspension, you don't even have the option of putting a nice 2.0 tire back there to cushion the ride. -The little plastic fender doohickey that they install on the connecting tube is a joke. Your kids will need to wear eye protection of some sort. I also recommend a full fender and extra long mudflaps on the towing bike. Our daughter still winds up pretty dirty riding the gravel paths and mountain bike trails in the rain. A fender for the rear tire would be nice as well, but there isn't even provision for putting one on there should you manage to source one (I wound up rigging up a recumbent fender) -The water bottle holder doesn't work very well for standard bicycle bottles. I recommend putting a Camelbak or similar in the pocket behind the seat. -The connection to your bike is hit or miss. I have two bikes that don't use a standard seat collar. The Weehoo connection won't work on these unless I'm willing to risk frame damage. Also, there are so many different seat post sizes that they can't realistically supply a shim for each and every one. I had to machine one of the extra bushings out to fit my wife's Specialized Rockhopper. The 27.2 bushing worked well on the bikes that I have with 27.2 seatposts. -The high connection point creates a lot of leverage on the bike when riding slow. I find that I have to work more to keep things upright than I do when towing a BOB trailer. -If you make tight turns the connecting arm hits your thighs. -My daughter doesn't like the seat. The padding isn't very thick and this is the one thing that she consistently complains about. -The thing is noisy. Far noisier than a Burley. I had to stop several times on my first ride to make sure that it was put together properly because it sounded like it was coming apart. I've replaced one of the quick-release pins with a bolt, which helps, but you're kind of stuck with the other pin due to the design. We've used the trailer considerably. It's still my daughter's preferred way of getting around and, despite all the little things that I don't like, I still prefer it to the Burley. I just think that Weehoo has a good product but no real similar competition to force them to step up their game and make a great product.

Fantastic Product and Amazing Customer Service!

I purchased our Weehoo 2 years ago this month. Since then it has been pulled along behind my mountain bike on hundreds of miles of forest trails. It is durable and well constructed having been put to the test on lots of rocky and muddy trails. It has allowed me to keep riding the singletracks with my toddler in tow. Our Weehoo has been worth every penny! My bike was stolen last month with the Weehoo hitch attached to the seat post. When I called Weehoo to find out about replacing the part, Nick immediately shipped a new hitch and shim to me free of charge. I really appreciate a company that provides that level of service! Thank you Weehoo for a great product and excellent customer service!

Best Kids Bike Trailer on the Market

We purchased this almost one year ago for then almost 2 year old son. He has enjoyed ever minute of tagging along with mom and dad on rides. The only thing I would change would be to put a little more cushion on the seat but I resolved that with a small pillow. Our son loves that he can bring his favorite stuffed animal, a snack and his water bottle along for the ride with room for a few extra acorns and rocks to be picked up along the way. I was tempted to purchase a trailer style but after seeing this I knew it was for us since we love to trail ride and this bike goes perfectly on single track trails. We also just enjoy getting out and riding around the neighborhood and the neighbors all seem to smile and wave when they see our little guy tagging along in back. The picture is from his inaugural ride about a year ago.

Incredible family tandem bike

My family enjoys hiking and biking which is why we bought this product. We have a 4 year old who is biking on his own and a one and a half year old as well and they both love the Wehoo. My 1 1/2 year old just enjoys the cruise. The straps are tight enough where he is safe. My 4 year old loves to peddle and when he does you can tell, it acts like a true tandem. It feels safe. There is ample storage. It pivots well and feels safe going over bumps and around corners. We use it for trail riding on longer routes and we use it around town as well. Highly recomend

Interactive for Kids

Our daughter does not like sitting in a car seat, but she was always kept entertained when riding in the Weehoo. The chair is supportive enough for her to take a nap while riding also. We didn't have a rear fender on the bike so there was the occasional dirt in the eye issue, but that should be solved with a fender. It is possible to use with a rear rack if you get a short one that doesn't protrude back too far. I also put a spare seat post adapter under the actual attachment to let it sit a bit higher and give clearance. We have done some light touring with this thing attached ok.

It's my son's very favorite thing

My two year old is just nuts about this. He often tries to climb into it when we go out to the garage. 15-20 mile rides are no problem. He just wants more. I put a small hydration bladder in the seatback pocket and fill one of the side pockets with goldfish. I've pulled it about 400 miles so far with no issues whatsoever. About 25% of that has been on (mellow) dirt. It provides great father-son time and I expect it to last for years to come.

Wouldn't make a move without it!

I have the similar but older 2012 model. We're relocating across town to be closer to our adult daughters. Locating another suitable neighborhood where there are bike trails so we could continue to take our grandchildren on outings in our Weehoo was paramount. My wife and I are seriously downsizing into tiny (<600sqft) third floor apartment. We'll be toting our bikes and the Weehoo up and down the stairs till we drop. Hopefully you get the picture as to how much joy this thing has brought to our family.

Assembly problems and no customer service

Their product might be great (I wouldn’t know yet), but their customer service is awful. The chain was really loose and I had to take it to my local bike shop to fix (even they said it was attached oddly), the hitch arm doesn’t fit and it jammed halfway on, and the saddle bags won’t strap on to the rack. In the last eight days I’ve emailed them at least half a dozen times (with videos and pictures), left several voice mails (because they don’t pick up the phone) and texts, and they’ve only responded a couple times to send me the video that’s on the website of how to assemble it. The video doesn’t show the problems I’m having. I’m very frustrated. Having problems with the product is bad enough, but also being ignored by customer service has made me very unhappy with their company.

Perfect for kid with special need.

Our son is tiny but has outgrown his bike seat. We used to have a trailer but he didn't like it too much. We were afraid of other bicycle trailers we saw because of the risk of falling off. When we saw the Weehoo, it was a revelation. It seemed perfect for him: stable and secure, in which he can grow for a few more years. We decided to get one, without hesitations, and because of a review indicating an instability of the trailer, we asked REI to assemble it, which was perfectly done, at no cost (greatly appreciated). We just got it and tried it immediately. First he was a little afraid so my wife gave him a hand and walked next to the trailer, but quickly he released the hand and off we went, for a 11 miles loop the 1st day and and an 18 miles one the next day. He was happy to pedal and help climb the hills. When he got tired he could safely rest. No complaints at all during the entire trips. As for us, we felt it was very easy to ride (much easier than our tandem for example) and the excess energy to put in to pull the trailer is 100% worth. This was just great. We are looking forward to the next trip :) I recommend this product without hesitation.

LOVE our Weehoo

I purchased the Weehoo after trying a "buggy" style trailer for my little girl; my daughter and I have fallen in love with this product! With the seat and harness, I never worried about her falling out. I would highly recommend to any family who loves to cycle. I also received some amazing customer service after calling them with problem that occurred after 3-years of use!
