Rated 4 out of 5 by from Great Backpack I have only had this backpack for 2 weeks, but it has been great. It is definitely waterproof and is a good size with great compartments for commuting back and forth to work. My only complaint would be that that straps are pretty minimal, which I could imagine that this would make it less comfortable for longer wear times (i.e. hiking).

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Sturdy and rain repellant Love this day pack it is rain repellant and keeps things dry. It also is very roomy and opens up easily to put things in and out. As a bonus, it is very attractive. It's worth the money.

Rated 2 out of 5 by from Good idea! Bad design I thought the fact that the whole pack opens up would be great, but in reality it's not very useful. The bag is always on the wrong shoulder when I need something quickly and there is no small pocket in the top of the bag so that's really super wasted space. I chose this over the 25L because I figured it was better waterproofed with the fold top, but I think i'm about to exchange it. They have the same usable space so it's kinda pointless.

Rated 3 out of 5 by from Love the look and feel, but some cons really stink I love this bag enough to not return it: it's got a beautiful DWR finish that seems to last surprisingly long. It can expand to store a ton of gear. It's got convenient opening options. I've filled this bag to bursting and the zipper still holds. However, the cons are plenty. The water bottle sleeve is inside. The laptop sleeve is small and lightly padded. The lash points for daisy chaining is awkward if the bag is filled up, and will swing around a bit. I also wish there were lash points that go around the bag so you can buckle things (like climbing shoes) in horizontally across the bag to minimize swing. If you completely fill this up, the compression straps that hold the top down hang around awkwardly unless you buckle them all awkwardly up the top. The webbing waist belt is awkward as well and there are no good storage options for them if you're not buckled in. It's also awkward in crowded subways, but what isn't.

In the Details section, it says this pack has stretchy side pockets for water bottles, but i can't see any in the photo. Are there outside pockets for water bottles?

Asked by: Rocky Mtn High
It does have one stretchy water bottle pocket but it is on the inside of the bag. Its on the side without the zipper.
