Rated 4 out of 5 by from Stretchy, good fit, sheds water I was very pleasantly surprised by this jacket! I modeled this jacket while ice climbing in Vermont for an REI debut of the women's Mammut line, and I wondered how well it would perform in the elements. The jacket not only looked great and popped against the blue ice in photos, but it was stretchy enough for me to move my arms freely, shed water from drips and leaning on the ice, and regulated temperature well. I'd say REI and Mammut found a great balance of performance and style in this jacket!

Rated 3 out of 5 by from Just ok I'm 5'7" 119 lbs and bought this in a size small. The jacket was pretty baggy in the upper arm/armpit area and had quite a bit of extra material in the lower back area, maybe an x-small would fit better but I didn't try it. I have an older soft shell jacket from Columbia in a size small and it fits way better than this one. The material on this jacket was a little noisy when you're arm brushes against your side and I really would prefer thumb holes in the sleeves which this jacket did not have. Overall, if it had fit better I still would have really had to think about it before keeping it, definitely not a slam dunk purchase.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from LOVE this jacket! I have been searching for a soft-shell jacket for quite a while now, just hadn't found the one I wanted. Came across this jacket and fell in love! The outside of the jacket isn't too noisy but does a pretty good job of water resistance. The lining on the inside of this jacket is very nice and you can really tell how well made the jacket is. Very glad I bought this jacket and I am sold on Mammut products!

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Excellent soft shell I bought this a few weeks ago for fall walks and casual bike rides. Very warm and truly windproof. On a side note I had to buy a large to get it zipped over my chest versus a medium Patagonia. Note to manufacturers, women with DDs can still be "medium" everywhere else!

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Very comfortable, performs This is a great jacket if you're in fog, wind, or caught in a drizzle. It is very soft and comfortable on the inside. My favorite aspect of this jacket are the cuffs around the wrist. They are soft and stretchy, which lets me use this jacket easily as a mid-layer as well (arctic conditions), but the sheer comfort of the sleeves and how the wrists seal on my arms is one of those things I wish more jackets did well. I end up using this jacket nearly daily in 40-50F weather.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from The perfect all-arounder I bought this jacket (in black) because I didn't have any hooded shells I liked. This one is perfect for everyday use or light hiking. It's well insulated against wind and rain, and the inside is super soft and warm. I had to order a size up, but only because I wanted space for layers underneath it.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Great, versatle layer I bought this while I was searching for a soft shell layer that could be worn snowshoeing or hiking, in light rain or snow (under my rain shell). So far it's done really well in light rain and snow (super water repellency)! It's got a great, relaxed fit (not too stiff feeling) so it works well over and under other layers. My only wish is that the pockets were pack-compatible, and also that it had a breast pocket. Then it would be perfect! Oh, and I LOVE the ends of the sleeves- they are soft and stretchy so they easily fit right under my gloves/mittens, which is a huge plus!

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Great jacket It's soft on the inside and water resistant on the outside. I usually buy columbia gear and this jacket is at least as good as any columbia gear I've owned. It fits well, great hourglass form.

How windproof is this jacket?

The vendor does not quantify the term "windproof". They indicate only that this jacket is fully windproof, not wind resistant. For more information please contact the vendor.
