Excellent seat cover
I tested this seat cover out with two wet dogs in my week old Subaru. With tan leather seats I needed an excellent seat cover. I only drove in the neighborhood so I'm not sure about sliding but the hammock fitting probably slides less than others mentioned. There are several inserts you tuck into the crease of the seats and they do a nice job of securing the cover in place. Layla is an older dog and struggles with getting into cars and prefers to step into the floor level, then step up onto the seats. She is used to putting her front paws up and being lifted so that is how I got her up on the seat with the cover in the hammock position. I shook off the cover and tossed it in the trunk (too lazy to retold out in the rain. My car still has that new car smell, and the cover is still piled up in the back! I am very pleased with this seat cover. I'm looking forward to lots of trips to the park this spring and summer! I highly recommend!
My Siberian Husky LOVES this thing
I have purchased SO many seat guards and this one is by FAR the best. The straps tighten around the base of the headrests so that they stay in place with any vehicle. it has button-able slits to allow for seatbelt access if necessary. My dog doesn't fall onto the floor anymore since it attaches to the font headrests as well. Great quality fabric as well, does a great job holding the mud/ dirt that my dog carries in with him after hikes.
Double-duty!
I got this seat cover to avoid my car being furry constantly - I have a Siberian husky and she sheds like crazy. I've found that this is also a great "barrier" for dogs that want to climb over to the driver's side. Some may consider it expensive, I consider it cheaper than vacuuming the car every week, and it's safer for both my husky and me while driving! PS: my car is a compact. I don't know how it would fare with SUVs or vans.
High quality material and design!
I've spent a lot of money on at least 4 car seat hammocks for our dogs, but this one is the best! Here's what I like about it: --Side flaps to protect the edge of the seats when my dog jumps in with muddy paws. To me, this is an extra bonus! --No zipper down the middle that you see in other brands and designs (my dog keeps stepping on the front middle and has ripped every one of the other hammocks). While other people might want that center vertical zipper so they can bring one side down so someone can sit on one side, I don't want it. It's easy enough to put on and take off. --Easy adjustments so it covers most of the seat and higher up the front of the car. --Snap slits for seat buckles (although she moves around so much the middle ones don't stay in) --Smooth material that beads up (so far) from rain drops --Excellent quality and design overall, worth the money
Great for the dogs and my wet camping gear!
I first purchased this in Feb. 2016 when I adopted a beagle to protect my leather car interior. Since then my beagle and his friends (4 golden retrievers) have all ridden in my car with no wear/ scratches on my leather seat. And they are normally muddy pups after swimming in the lake at my dog park. This past weekend after camping at Roan Mountain State Park, I had to pack up camp in the rain and drive back to Knoxville with a wet tent. I actually put the rain soaked tent in the back seat, and my dog up front for the drive home. I was pleasantly surprised that the seat cover had kept all the water from my tent contained, and off my leather seats over the period of about 4 hrs.
Nice
I've used this for about a week. I drive a Kia Soul and it fit well. I've had a few different backseat covers similar to this one. This is the only one that has the part that hangs down & covers the side of the seat...that's why I bought it. So far it's great. The only reason I didn't give it 5 stars is because the material is thin. That doesn't mean it doesn't work well, just that it's not as comfortable or durable as thicker covers.
Great doggie gear
Having two spirited Basenjis, we needed something that hold them in the back seat, and easy to clean. The Ruffwear does both very well. We use it in our SUV, and put a quilted moving blanket on top of the seat portion to give the doggies something soft and comfy to sleep on during long trips. It works perfectly.
Great protection, but a bit thin
We were looking for a way to provide a nice, comfortable space in the back seat for our lovable 60# mutt. After reading all the reviews, this seemed to do the trick. It fits perfectly in our hatchback, snuggly clipping into the seats, as designed. The "hammock" feature is nice to give secure leaning space on both sides for our dog, keeping his hair, mud and water in the back (and preventing him from trying to come up front). Plus, the hammock setup still allows you access the back seat floors from the front seat or rear doors, but shielding items from view or sun as added security while you're on the go. The zippered stash pocket is also convenient for holding a bowl, leash and toys. The only drawback is that while the material is tough, it is also quite thin. This means that it is a bit noisy, but it also slides around on our leather seats underneath, as does our dog when turning corners. This may not be an issue on upholstered seats, but for those with smooth surfaces, I recommend blankets either below or on the cover, or both. I just wish for the price it had additional padding and traction. Otherwise, though, it's a well-designed product.
Almost perfect for a puppy!
We got an 8 week-old mini goldendoodle who will go to work with me everyday as we're raising her to be a therapy dog. This has been perfect with one exception: the first time my wife was in the car, the puppy tried to get to her and fell between the door and where the cover ends. Somehow this never happened when it was just me in the car. If there was a way to get the sides to have no gap between the door, it would be perfect. The fix was to shorten the lead I have that goes into the seatbelt receptacle that's attached to her harness. Other than that, it's a great product.
Keeps the back seat clean
This was an absolutely amazing purchase! Keeps all the dog hair, mud and wet dog smell out of my truck. The only downside is it's not quite wide enough for my truck. Covers enough of the seat tho and keeps it clean.
