Great kayak
I have to agree with much of what the other reviewer stated. It's a great kayak from the few times I've used it so far. I'm 6'7", 260 lbs and use it mainly just myself. Without changing any seating positions I can sit in the back with my legs completely outstretched and not be bunched up into the front seat. I could always remove the front seat and move the rear seat to the middle should I so desire. My height is what made me choose this particular kayak, I needed something that I'd be comfortable in for hours at a time and this does the job. The seats are adjustable to fit to your individual comfort position. I'm new to kayaking and the only previous kayaking I had done was on my honeymoon with a sit on top. I found that particular style to be too uncomfortable for my lower back, so I made sure before spending a bit of money I found one that'd work for me and make me want to go out on more trips. As the other reviewer stated, I do believe that after the kayak was assembled they could have made an attempt at cleaning out all of the shavings and unused screws and nuts. I'm assuming they were unused, I searched and didn't see anything appear to be missing which was my initial concern. But overall, quality wise it appears to be very good. So far I've used it on calms rivers and lakes, but looking to try it out on the Narragansett Bay with some friends.
Fun boat with small flaws
This is a fun boat for recreational kayaking, and for fitness cross training (my primary goal).Design and construction seem good. However, it arrived with lots of plastic shavings and long plastic cuttings left over for the finishing process. No one bothered to check and vacuum up the mess. Also, the black plastic molding at the base of the rear seat rest had two sharp plastic burrs positioned perfectly to scratch an energetic paddler. These were easily removed with a small knife and fine sandpaper, but still annoying. So, good product, but management needs to tighten up quality control and final inspection. To the management, if you are reading, my boat was built on March 27, 2015, the QC stamp says #44, there is a hand-written "17" with a circle around it, and the last four digits of the Hull ID Number are C515.
Best camping with a dog in BWCA kayak
Love it. Best camping kayak ever. The front seat is in and out as needed. Stable. Get wheel cart for portages.
