Keeps feet warm and gravel and sand out
I've been on two all day river trips in these now and love them! The Mississinewa River has a very coarse sand, gravel and rock bottom. That sand gets in your shoes and irritates after a while. These boots are tight around your leg and keep that stuff out. I like that there is a velcro strap that keeps the zipper from working loose. If you have to walk on land much, your feet do get hot. My feet usually are very cold in the river, not with these on! I am impressed with the gripping power of the soles as well. They grip underwater rocks well and even helped climbing up a muddy bank. They are a bear to get on and off, although, they seem to be loosening up just a little bitty bit. Overall, I am very happy with them! Based on reviews, I did get a half size larger and am glad I did!

Great shoes, but Women's sizing is very small
I have a pair of these and they are very accurately sized for men. The ladies sizing is very small both for foot and ankle. My wife wears size 6 and really had to really struggle to get the shoe on her foot. She commented that with a wet foot, it would be impossible to insert her foot into the shoe. The ankle was so tight that the zipper could not be closed. Recommend 1-2 sizes larger than normal shoe size.

Sturdy, odd fit

Just came in mail. Ordered a size 11 for my size 10 foot. Length fits, but they are wide. The ankle fit is tight. Almost too tight. Once I get in kayak, will have to unzip. I think the tight fit will help to keep on in rough terrain or waters but not comfortable for much longer than getting in and out. I wouldn’t recommend if someone has muscular lower legs or edema issues, just too tight. I do however like the thickness and protection that these offers compared to other shoeshiner I tried on. I feel like they will give me excellent protection from rocks and cold waters as the soles are sturdy and have traction.

Great water shoes!

Great water shoes! I wear them kayaking. Good grip on slippery rocks, and nice fit too! (I wear women’s 8, I wear these with a thin pair of wool socks and they fit just right, with or without socks on.) The biggest thing I’m glad for is how much warmer my feet are now. Prior to buying these I was using chacos with socks and waterproof socks, which was ok but my feet would get so cold on a longer day, especially in the winter/springtime! These water shoes are SO much warmer, it’s night and day for my feet. I’m so glad I bought these, my feet are much happier now when out on the water!

Good but runs really small especially in the ankle

Based on the other reviews I bought a size 8 even though I normally wear size 6.5. The ankles are still very tight especially with neoprene socks. The toe to heel length is just a touch long (which means that a size 6.5 would have been far too small for me). I don't know if getting a larger size would improve the ankle fit. It's an annoying issue with what otherwise seems to be a well-made product. If you can deal with the tight ankle fit the shoes should be okay. But if your ankles are wide the shoes would be uncomfortable.

Ankle fit is unreasonably tight

If your ankles are the same width or smaller than your wrist, or if you have had your calf muscles surgically removed, these booties may fit you. Otherwise you will not be able to zip them up. The quality seems good and the length of the actual foot box is true to size but the ankle tightness is ridiculous. I'm not sure what kind of stick legged person these are made for but i will be returning them.

paddle shoefits very small

I've been kayaking for many years in the NW and needed to replace my paddle shoes. I purchased a pair of NRS Paddle Wetshoes in my regular size, and was surprised at how small they were. I wear a size 8 and holding thes up tomy old ones, found they were an inch shorter. While paddling in NW cold waters, I wear a dry suit with a pair of wool sox inside my paddle shoes. There was no way I could fit any sock or my dry suit's feet in the NRS Paddle boots. I returned them and will look elsewhere for the right size.. Even without any socks, these boots would have been too short.

Run super small

After reading the reviews I ordered the 9- I usually wear an 8.5 and even with a 9 my toe was still touching the end. Since they only do full sizes I’m torn about ordering a 10, other than that they fit well and seemed like they’d do the trick for SUP and paddling early and late in the season, plenty wide and maybe if the toe end wasn’t harder plastic I could have dealt with it but back they go

Love these . Must have

I love these! I kayak rivers alot and I go areas with lots of rock big and small. These keep my feet and ankles safe. Even during portages, when there are hills to climb and weeds to go through. (Never know when that will happen). I now use these all the time when I kayak.

Runs small but otherwise great

Only used once so far but kept my feet warm in cold water. I did have to exchange them at a local store after ordering online because they were to small.
