Exactly what I was looking for

I have a backpack that I use for traveling that doesn't have an easy-access pocket. I was looking for a holder for my phone, driver's license, etc. that would give me fast access to these items. This case wraps around the strap and works perfectly. A few things to note: 01 If you hate labels like I do, the TIMBUK2 tag can be easily removed with a seam ripper. 02 The description on the product card claims there is a front zipper pocket. There is a front pocket, but it is not zippered. However, it feels quite secure as it's under the velcro flap. 03 It does have 2 holes to allow for headphones to pass through.

Velcro wears out

I strap these kind of phone cases to my purse not my bike. They get heavy use because I'm constantly opening and closing the velcroed flap to access my phone. After less than a year the velcro started to wear out and my phone would fall out. The company was kind enough to replace it. Now after about a year and a half, the new one's velcro has worn out too. This is not an acceptable life-span: had another company's strap-on cell phone case that never wore out, even after 4+ years of heavy use. Used it until it no longer fit my phone.

Fits Nexus 5X really well!

This is a very well designed and functional item for larger cell phones like the Nexus 5X. It is very easy to un-velcro the flap of this case with one hand and the phone slides out very easily with one hand even on a phone with dull case finish. The small pocket in front of the phone slot is perfect for an ID card to be stored. The strap on back allows for mounting on a backpack strap close to my face and ear so I can hear verbal directions and so I can speak instructions to my phone while riding my bike. This product was obviously put through a design review with actual users of the product before its release! Awesome!

Great case, if it fit large screens. :(

While large screen phones (like the iPhone 6+) will fit in the case, the top flap won't reach the velcro on the front when the phone is in there. Your phone has to be 5 inches tall or shorter, despite the dimensions making it seem like a 6" tall phone might fit. Sad, because it'd be an awesome case if my phone fit; lots of ways to mount it to straps, accessories pocket, etc. If this was redesigned, it would need a 1" longer top flap and headphone ports on the bottom (since Apple decided to move the port). I'd recommend this to anyone with an iPhone 6, but definitely not a 6+ or any other large screened phone.

Made for the 6+

Great thing about this pouch is that it fit the 6 plus nicely, with a smart extra to accommodate the earphone jack, unlike the M sized pouch in the previous versions which can't close fully with the 6 plus, plus I had to close the flap sideways to account for the earphone jack. My only gripe so far was that I'm using this with the 7 plus now, which doesn't do justice to the design of the pouch, since the dongle would cause me to be unable to close the flap without attempting to bend the flexible end of the dongle, which could potentially damage the dongle. Otherwise, it's an excellent pouch for use with the 6 plus with the earphones plugged in.

An essential accessory

I had my original Timbuk2 phone accessory case since 2002. With it, I had access to my phone all the time. I walk just about everywhere, most importantly, between my apartment and my office. I have my own business, so having immediate access to my phone is essential. I have, since 1984, used a backpack. When I was eligible to upgrade to the iPhone6, I was sad to discover it wouldn't fit in my older case. I held off on getting the 6 until I was certain I could find a backpack phone holder. This is IT!!!!!! It is as sturdy and trustworthy as my old one, and looks great. A must have. This one is actually sturdier and has a stronger hold.

Fits iPhone 6

I'm glad to finally have an updated case for my phone, I've been squeezing my iPhones in to the case I purchased years ago for my LG Chocolate because a new case was not yet available. This case fits my iPhone 6 in a Speck hard shell card case, the flap fits over the case, and the velcro closes securely. The holes line up for the headphone jack. The one downside is that I like to take my phone out to look at it every once in a while, and with this case you have to disconnect the headphones to do so comfortably. It would be nice if there was an option with a narrow flap so that you could get your phone in and out without having to disconnect the headphones.

Love these accessory cases. Large case big for some straps

These are nice accessory pockets for carrying your phone on your backpack. I've used the small/regular one for several years. I recently upgraded to the iPhone + and got the larger accessory pocket. Same goodness as the smaller one, **except** that on my bag, the accessory pocket does not fit on the strap side that has a reflector. Beware of this! All else is good!

Phone doesn't quite fit

Fits the strap of my classic messenger well, and it is light-weight and well-made. But I ordered a medium, and the top flap doesn't quite close over my samsung galaxy s7 edge (it has a low-profile case, but i think even without the case it would be a squeeze to get the velcro to close). I researched the dimensions before buying, and I knew it would be a close fit, but the large size seemed excessive. Fortunately the snug fit prevents my phone from falling out, even though I can't close the flap, so I do use it, to keep phone safe and accessible, but it looks pretty sloppy hanging open.

Not even sprinkle resistant

This item entirely exposes your items to the elements. Sides are elastic with a centimeter hole at the top and bottom. The photo shows a phone which will not work in 92.6% of the country in even a slightly moist day...let alone the headphone holes on the top panel. Chrome makes one that works...which is too bad.
