Rated 4 out of 5 by from great poles, awful wrist straps I just used these poles out in Yosemite on tough, rocky trails for 4 days and they held up great. I purposefully wasn't easy on them to make sure they could hold up. They actual poles were great, but I don't understand why they have such awful, uncomfortable wrist straps. I stopped using them in the end as they were rubbing my skin raw. I went back to REI and saw other Black Diamond poles with really soft straps, so don't understand why they put these on here. I mainly chose these poles due to how compact they pack up and it was such a great decision - they were easy to get in and out of my pack and fit in my suitcase perfectly. As well, they are super light. Only other gripe would be the basket - it is small and if you replace it with another brand, you lose the fact that it clips into the pole.

Rated 3 out of 5 by from black diamond FAIL for snow use. so i loved these poles all through May-Nov; great grip, lightweight, super compact. but when i went to purchase some snow baskets to throw on for snow shoeing, REI let me know that black diamond didn't make these poles to be compatible with any snow baskets. WHAT? whyyyyy???? i do not want to buy a second set of poles just for the use of snow baskets. so sadly these will be going back, likely in exchange for the Leki's. fail black diamond.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from I feel more secure hiking downhill with these pole I have been hiking in the Superstition Mountains for over 10 years and I had been dreading steep downhill descents. With these poles I feel more secure, balanced, and confident that I can take those steep trails. Best purchase I've made in a long time!

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Very nice hiking poles! I bought these hiking poles two months ago and have used them several times. Easy to fold and unfold, and very sturdy. These definitely help when walking on uneven terrain and down hills. I highly recommend them.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from very light and easy to carry I have been using this pair of poles for 4 months now, on weekly basis, usually 16-24miles. They are very light for the long hike and save me a lot of energy hiking uphills and give me strong support hiking downhills. They are very easy to carry in my Osprey Daylite backpack. Very happy with the purchase.
