New Favorite Jacket
This jacket is amazingly light for how rugged and durable it feels. This is my first Kuhl product and I am very impressed with its quality. The arms design makes it super easy to move without being bulky. This jacket is perfect as a windbreaker to put over that fragile little puffy or just as a very wind resistant jacket. It is not very thick or warm, but it does repel water decently. The Seattle rain has only defeated it once so far. This jacket is also great because it doesn't make you look like you are constantly camping. It is very slimming and looks really good with other neutral colors. I get compliments from my gear junky friends and from my fashionable friends.
Great overall rain/wind jacket
All the pockets are really handy. Good weight to the jacket. Nice with a zipper and buttons. Its keeping the wind out. Did great the day it rained. Kuhl tends to run short when it comes to jackets and shirts, so I got this a size larger and its great. Plus, now ample room for a layer or two in the winter. The sleeves are perhaps just ever so slightly long, but that is good with fitting over gloves in the winter. Nice also in that the jacket packs fairly small, so a good solid jacket to travel with. Plus, it does not hurt that already two strangers have asked me about it - sent them both over to REI. You know your styling when others have to ask.
Functional, Durable, Stylish, and Awesome
I absolutely love this jacket. It's very light but provides decent wind protection and will shed rain for a little while. You'll need to wear insulating layers under it if its pretty chilly out but this is the perfect fall or spring jacket. It's a slimmer cut and fits me very well. The collar is bulky with the hood zipped inside so I just leave the hood out as I often use it when it's chilly or windy. The buttons look great and this jacket is built to last a long time. There are so many pockets and you can fit a ton of stuff in them if you really need to. It's nice to have something that is so functional and durable that actually looks great. Highly recommended.
Perfect
Excellent for windy, chilly days, light drizzle or fog. I wear in between a M-L depending on the cut. I'm 5'11, 190lbs, 42 chest, 32 waist. The "M"s shoulder is too tight and the length is too short. It's more of a slimmer cut usually L's are too roomy around the stomach but this L fits perfect, I thought maybe the length would be too long but considering it's more of field and not a waist jacket it's perfect with enough shoulder rotation and not too roomy. Overall an excellent product and well made.
Honestly my favorite piece of clothing I've owned
This jacket is like my blanket; I rarely go anywhere without it. I picked it up in-store 3 or 4 years ago when I lived it NYC and it's been my favorite piece of clothing ever since, both there and in the mountains of Colorado. It's honestly the perfect hybrid jacket between city and outdoor clothes, is water resistant enough for surprise rainstorms, and is cut really well to fit slim people like me. I'm 6'2" and about 165 pounds and this jacket fits perfectly (medium), with just a bit of space for layers underneath. I'll wear this jacket until it falls apart and then buy another one (or two) to replace it. At this point, I'd pay twice the price to replace it if I had to.
Not bulky and great with layering
I'm 5'6", 160 lbs, and usually wear an M, sometimes S for certain brands, and I prefer slimmer fits in general. I chose an M for this jacket. I could have fit into an S but the shoulders were a little tight. As a shorter guy, many jackets/shirts/everything go way too long, but even choosing the larger size this jacket hits only slightly below my waist, which I'm pleased about. When zipped up it has a fairly trim profile. Despite that, there's room inside for a puffy layer, so you can add plenty of warmth underneath. I really like the sleeves: they have the two-option snap buttons at the end (similar to some dress shirt sleeves, but as snaps), and the tighter option helps contribute to the slimming look. On warmer days, I leave the jacket open, and I think it looks pretty stylish.
My new favorite jacket
This is my first KUHL product, and frankly my first jacket purchase in the PNW. I have had this jacket going on two years, and love this item. It is perfect for windy days and overcast weather. The hem and joint stitching is extremely durable. There is plenty of room for movement, but this jacket tends to fit slim. Does a good job of wicking away rain and moisture alike. The hood brim is just a little too short on my head, so I wear a billed hat when it drizzles. I would recommend touching up the wax protective coating once every three months. I will be buying more KUHL products in the future for sure.
Almost perfect travel jacket
Why I like this jacket: Lightweight, water-repellent, comfortable, stylish enough for dinner out, and useful for holding all the loose ends when boarding a plane. It's enough cover for temperate climates and easily accommodates extra layers for cooler temperatures. I've been looking for a travel jacket with enough secure pockets, and the Kollusion fits the bill. It's light enough to stuff in a day pack and good-looking enough to wear around town. The four main pockets have snap closures and there are two "hand-warmer" pockets that zip up. It's a little roomy at my normal size to fit more clothing under. It would be perfect with two additions: 1) an internal zipped pocket for extra security and 2) a two-way zipper so one can sit down more comfortably.
Perfect for PNW weather & travel
I really like this coat. The fit is slim, but with enough room to wear a warm sweater or nano-puff style coat/vest underneath. The coat is perfect for travel (just returned from several weeks in Europe), with several secure pockets for wallet, passports, phone, etc. The seams on the hood and shoulders leaked a little in heavy rain, but 5 minutes with some canvas wax (Fjalraven) fixed that issue.
function with style
Happy with field jacket style, quality double stitching, slim cut, articulating arm design. While I would prefer an additional interior pocket, four outside pockets, with hidden hand warmer serve the job. Great for vest layering. I expect much use, as other kuhl products. Worth a look.
