Awesome Hike Shoe

So happy to have purchased the Vasque Grand Traverse for hiking. They are great in the mountains and hills, and, well everywhere. Besides comfort and quality, these shoes get me a lot of compliments even at the grocery store. I wear an 8.5 and got a size 9, feels great and my toes don't hit the front when going down steep trails. I also have Vasque hiking boots, size/ comfort/ quality all great as well - which is why I decided to purchase my Vasque hiking shoes. Satisfied!

Not a good shoe for a foot with morton's toe

If you have morton's toe (second toe is longer than big toe), this shoe will likely not work for you. This shoe caused significant pressure and pain in the 4th and 5th toes for me because it's made for someone with a sloping toe box. Even with a thumb's width of length available in the big toe, the shape of the shoe wouldn't allow the rest of my foot to feel comfortable.

My Feet Used to Get SO Tired Lugging Hiking Boots

To say I'm picky would be an understatement... having a new hip at the age of 23, and bad knees, my legs become far too exhausted simply walking around in shoes that are too heavy, which of course made looking for hiking shoes/boots an intimidating endeavor. My partner and I are prepping for a 45 day camping and hiking trip, so I decided to give these a try. They. Are. Phenomenal. I have been breaking them in as much as possible and have absolutely loved them. From their comfort, to their weight, to their stability, I give these five stars. I look forward to seeing how they hold up during our trip!

Came apart in only two months

I loved these shoes when I first got them -- so comfortable with great grip -- I didn't even slip on wet rocks! After using them a handful of times over two months, they seam at the top of both shoes came apart. I didn't use them enough for that to happen!! The open seams let in everything -- sand, rocks, etc. Very disappointed and expected much better quality --- especially with how great they felt.

Best Trainers Ever

I have these shoes in two different colors. One pair, I have had for about 3 years and they are still good as new, even with as much as I wear them. I wear these on all of our overseas trips, light hikes, and running errands. I can't say enough good things about these shoes. They are comfortable right out of the box: sturdy without being stiff, made well with good materials that have yet to fray, split, or unglue! They fit true to size (I am a solid size 6 and these are perfect), have good laces to tighten or loosen based on foot and personal preference, and the charcoal color has a navy undertone. Perfect Trainer!

Greta grip in wet/mixed conditions

I bought these shoes because some of the approaches that I have been doing are so variable. After much research, these were ones that were recommended for wet conditions as well as dry. Working on new projects, I spend a lot of time at the base working rope management scrambling around on thorny bushes and wet, slick rock. The Vasque Grand Traverse approach shoes are wonderful! My partner in Scarpas was slipping around all over the place and others were cursing their way through the sloppy conditions in their Sportivas. I was sure footed and able to be quick when people needed. They are so springy that they are even comfortable to wear to work and they fit true.

Great shoe for cycling, too

I bought this for a long cycling tour, wanting to avoid a classic cycling shoe. I was looking for a firm footbed in a shoe I could also wear for touristy walking when not on the bike. This shoe held up admirably and gave great support. I have a narrow foot and found the shoe slightly loose in the forefoot, but I adapted to it and did not suffer any ill effects because of it.

Love the boot, but interior lining is faulty

I bought these a few years ago and love the fit, grip, style, etc., but unfortunately the inside mesh of the shoe is made of soft fabric that has worn in one of the heels. Due to this, it's impossible to wear them without a major blister occurring on my heel. I'm gutted to say the least.... to the donate bin they go... Sorry to see this type of quality control from a company I once loved.

Style-5, Comfort-1

I bought these shoes based off of looks alone. I love the colors and how durable they are. You can hike through mud and sharp rocks without a worry. However, the toe area is not wide enough to fit all 5 of my toes. I find myself scrunching my toes together throughout the entire hike. My last 11 mile hike was the last one in these boots, as they caused a heel injury that lasted a week. Also, my pinkie toe went numb for an entire day. I would have been better off in tennis shoes. I got some new Danner boots and as soon as I slipped them on I realized how horribly uncomfortable my Vasque boots were. Would not recommend.

Cushy Comfort

On a whim, I tried these shoes on at the store based on the funky color and ended up loving them. I needed a shoe with a thick, supportive sole that wasn't too full in the forefoot area. This has been a problem for me since my feet are flat and narrow and tend to move around in a lot of my other shoes; in consequence, I find my big toes aching and sore from trying to grip the soles of my shoes. With these, my feet are cushioned from the bottom AND the top! Love to colors, love the grip, love these shoes!
