Rated 5 out of 5 by from Solid Purchase I purchased these boots for a backpacking trip and they served me very, very well. Comfortable from the get-go, my feet were never tired and I finished the trip blister-free. I wore them 12+ hours at a time. I used them to hike in the alps and also to trek through the cities (well over 200 miles on them). They got me through snow, rain storms (got a little damp but might've been from the water trickling down my leg), and heat waves (never got too hot, even with wool socks). Lightweight, packable, breathable, and water-proof. Great versatile shoe. Will probably buy another pair as back-up.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Light and great traction I recently purchased these shoes for a hike in Peru. I have been wearing them constantly (around the house, tho the grocery store, to work, in the winter weather in NYC) to break them in for my trip. They took a little getting used to at first since I am not used to wear shoes with ankle support. I wear them with thick socks (to mimic the wool socks I will be wearing hiking) and with each wear they are becoming more comfortable. With all the snow, ice, slush, and sleet we have been having in NYC lately, they are really perfect. My feet are dry as a bone and protected. I have not slipped once in them, they have great traction. Highly recommend!

Rated 1 out of 5 by from Seams tear negating waterproofing Bought these for my wife and the shoe looks great to begin with but after 6 months / 60 miles of hiking, an inner seam tore, negating the waterproofing. I bought the same boot (guy version) and the same thing happened after only 3 months / 30 miles of hiking. Love the look, comfort, and lightness of the boot but the craftsmanship is questionable.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Lightweight I bought these about 5 months ago and I'm very happy with them. I just got back from a hike in 6 inches of snow and slush, and my feet did not get damp at all. They kept my feet warm and dry. They're very comfortable and lightweight. I had to go half a size larger than usual for hiking boots (a full size large than some other shoes). I liked them so much my husband got a pair too, and he's equally happy.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from So far so good! Fit: usually a size 7, ordered a 7.5. They fit well with a mid-weight sock. Very comfortable. You're not gonna put your foot in this shoe and go "oh wow these are so soft" but don't let that discourage you because when you're hiking, walking in these they are very comfortable. Waterproofing: Works well. Splashed through several puddles, mud, out in the rain, feet stayed dry. Color: For a hiking boot, these are quite stylish and "cute". The "purple" is really more a magenta than a purple. It's a cool color though. I haven't put these "through the wringer" or had much trail mileage on them as the trails in the Northeast still require more of an insulated winter boot but these are planned backpacking boots to take on the Appalachian Trail through NJ, MD, WV and the rollercoaster of VA. I feel confident they'll do well.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Comfortable and durable I bought these shoes over a year ago. I have worn them a dozen times camping and hiking. I have hiked in Yosemite many times in these. I like that they're comfortable and durable. I've stepped in water many times in these, and did not get wet. What can I say? I'm a fan of TNF.

Sizing for this shoe. I am a size 8 but with my running shoes 8.5/9. What size would you recommend to purchase these hiking boots? How do they fit? Thanks!
