Rated 5 out of 5 by from No blisters, dry feet, comfy socks! I was a little hesitant to shell out this amount of cash on some hiking socks but after reading blogs and doing a little research I took the plunge. And boy have I been happy that I did. Just did a 17 mile hike up to Half Dome and back and was real concerned, especially because of all stairs and downhill. Absolutely no blisters and no issues. When we would take breaks, I would take off the socks and they were soaking wet but my feet were dry. I've also done short two day backpacking trips and no blisters either even though there was a lot of climbing and descending. I can't wait to buy their running socks because I'm sure I'll fall in love all over again.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Feel great...and so cute It is hard to find a low-cut, wool, hiking-weight sock for women. REI's own brand has one only in blue (which I have). SmartWool doesn't carry them in women's sizes. I found these Darn Tough socks at the Redmond store a few weeks ago, in Watermelon (did I say "cute"?); really liked them; so when I saw these Heather ones available online (not in my store) and on sale, I was very pleased. I give them 4 stars only because I haven't worn them enough times to see how tough they are! p.s. another option, which I use, is to cut off the tops of regular (old) SmartWool hiking socks so that they are ankle-height. So far these haven't frayed.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Actually the best socks ever. I don't have much words to say other than best. Comfy, supporting, blister preventing. Life long. They're great.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Can't wait to wear them again! These are exactly what I was looking for! Strong, thick socks with a ankle height. They kept my feet cushioned but not too hot. I can't wait for them to get out of the dryer so I can wear them again!

I want to try Darn Tough for the first time. For Smartwool sizing, the small is supposed to fit 4-6.5, but for my 6.5 foot it is too tight while the medium is perfect. Darn Tough's range for small is 4.5-7. Do they run small as well?

Asked by: SierraTrout
These socks do not run small. Sizing is slightly different than Smartwool socks, so the size small may be the best choice for you.
